About this listen

Ben is a pebble-gifting season reject. He wandered the cold streets of Anchorage for three weeks straight, hoping an alpha would give him a pebble. But no one did.

Axel is banished. He lost his temper four years ago and almost killed the alpha who abandoned his brother. Now, he can only spend a handful of days per year in Anchorage, which is when he comes upon a sad penguin shifter in a wrinkled tuxedo.

When Cyrano runs into Ben and Axel by chance, he decides to lure them both to bed. Clearly, Ben needs someone to show him how irresistibly attractive he is, and Axel needs to be reminded that he’s a good man, despite what happened in the past.

Cyrano’s sure he can do both at the same time. On the same night. After all, he’s good at multitasking. It’s a perfect plan. Until he falls in love. With both of them.

A Home for Ben is an MMM romance with an accidental pet tortoise, two omegas who get pregnant at the same time, and cameos from previous characters in the Alaskan Pebble Gifters series. This book is the third in the series and will only make sense if you’ve read/listened to the first two books.

Please note that A Home for Ben includes both traditional mpreg and mpreg of the penguin egg variety.

While I'm very much not a lover of MMM+, I really did enjoy this one. There was a definite reason to add in a third and it just made sense, so I had a good time with it. I loved how much the three men relied on each other, cared for each other, and communicated openly. Each man wanted nothing for himself and everything for his mates.

I definitely recommend this listen.

A Home for Ben is the third book in Amy Bellow's Alaskan Pebble Gifter series. I love how the author has brought the penguin shifter traditions and polar bear magic into this series. It allows for more to be done with the story, especially as the two species, before the MC's in book one, never had relationships and only tolerated each other in the same town. In this book, I felt there was more of a plot as Axel, an alpha that was sent to live on the slopes as a punishment is lucky enough to meet penguin shifter Ben on one of his few nights allowed in the town of Anchorage. Together, the two go for dinner and run into Cy, who welcomes them to share a night together. Axel and Cy have history together but never worked due to them both wanting to be in charge and having dom/daddy tendencies. Ben is the perfect counterbalance, allowing them to all be a part of a relationship that is loving, accepting and necessary for them all. Along with their relationship development is a plot involving Axel and his chance to have a future with the two men who come to mean so much to him. I found this to be an interesting development and loved how it came to give answers to another,
All of the characters fit so well together in their relationship. Ben is sweet, wanting somewhere to belong after being given up as an egg. Cyrano has been used to trying to prove himself for so long as an omega wanting to do metal magic and Ben accepts him as himself, neither omega or alpha and someone who needs to be in charge. Cyrano's past with Axel has always felt unfinished but being with Ben gives them someone to balance their dominance and love with enough to share between the three of them. Together they are sweetness, care, heat and love and it' strikes a perfect balance of happiness that no one was expecting. It was great getting to interact with previous couples and characters that we've met in the previous books, especially as they offered experience and advice as the first penguin/polar bear couples to exist in Anchorage.
I'm loving this series so far and look forward to who gets their HEA next.
This is actually my first narration from Zachary Zaba and he does a really great job in bringing this story and the characters to life. Each person has their own voice and emotion comes across really well, allowing me to just fall into the story as I listened to it.

Considering this one is about penguins and the cold this one certainly left me feeling warm after listening to it. This is such a beautiful and in depth novel with characters that need the others to help them become whole again. Listening as they all found what they needed to thrive was very entertaining and I absolutely loved this novel. The narration for me also helped to move this to the next level as I could hear the emotions rather than just reading them. All in all this was a well written and entertaining book that I couldn’t recommend any more.

What a gorgeous story

This was the best book in the series so far. I love MMM relationships, and this one was especially fantastic the way the three lovers fit together and supported each other. Ben's story was so sad to start with. To come from so far away looking for his family and his mate to not even be considered as a mate because he is considered a bastard (he's actually an orphan). He was exactly the third Axel and Cyrano needed to fuse them together. There was another sharp moment of sadness when Cyrano realizes Ben and Axel are mates. He was so insecure, he was ready to walk away. All three have insecurities - Ben from being abandoned as a child/egg and then not getting a pebble, Cy from his upbringing and hinted at abuse (not detailed), and Axel from his losing control of his rage and thinking he didn't deserve a mate. They all had to grow and find themselves. I loved that Axel got his second chance, and I really enjoyed the mythology of the Rusalkas. Both tragic and uplifting. This story was more complex and intriguing than the first two, but it still had some fantastic humor. The nesting scenes were unique and absolutely hilarious, as was Scootch. I loved Cy's thoughts that Ben's pet was like bad-mannered in-laws that you just had to put up with. The three-way mating scene was interesting and perfect in the way that Ben and Axel were able to help Cy stay in control of his heat. Just absolutely enjoyable story-telling. I hope there is more to come in this series.

The narrator change threw me a little because the voices for the characters from the first two books changed some, and I liked the prior narrator better. If I had listened to this book alone, the narration would have been fine. I was just expecting Todd, Lewis, Daniel, and Ansel to sound like the prior books and they didn't. The voices for Ben, Axel, and Cy were great, because I had no prior reference. The narrator was good; I just had expectations.

I received a free copy of this audiobook and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.
