Celebrated novelist Francisco Goldman married a beautiful young writer named Aura Estrada in a romantic Mexican hacienda in the summer of 2005. The month before their second anniversary, during a long-awaited holiday, Aura broke her neck while body-surfing. Francisco, blamed for Aura’s death by her family and blaming himself, wanted to die, too.
This wonderful, moving memoir had me in tears from the outset. It really reminded me of Joan Didion's The Year of Magical Thinking. Listen to this on your own, away from any distractions. Highly recommend.
Nora Ephron returns with her first book since the astounding success of I Feel Bad About My Neck, taking a cold, hard, hilarious look at the past, the present, and the future, bemoaning the vicissitudes of modern life, and recalling with her signature clarity and wisdom everything she hasn’t (yet) forgotten. Filled with insights and observations that instantly ring true - and could have come only from Nora Ephron - I Remember Nothing is a pure delight.
I devoured this in one sitting, this was an absolute pleasure to listen to. More please Nora!

On 5 September 1984, 18-year-old Geoff Holt dived into an idyllic tropical sea and his life changed forever. A broken neck cut short a promising career as a yachtsman and left him paralysed, with his horizons reduced to an uncertain future in a wheelchair. On 5 September 2007, after a journey of 109 days and 1,445 miles, Geoff Holt crossed the finish line in the Solent and reached the summit of his Personal Everest – the first quadriplegic yachtsman to sail single-handed around Great Britain.
The mind boggles at how challenging life might be for Geoff Holt. And yet, Geoff is living proof of just how much you can achieve when you set your mind to it. A really inspiring listen, one to give you a great big kick up the backside and enjoy the life we have!
There are two purposes of iRelaxation. The first is to relax you immediately. To leave you feeling CALM, at ease, more self-assured and COMPOSED, and to be able to instantly access a state where you feel deeply RELAXED...a state that feels really good. The second part of iRelaxation is to help to you access more feelings of relaxation whenever you want them into the future. Because once a person has felt a certain way once, you can access these feelings again whenever you like.
I was feeling extremely nervous before a company presentation and i must say, this works!! Some of the relaxation techniques surpassed anything i've ever experienced before. This really works.
He is Dexter Mayhew, tall, dark, and (she can't deny it) handsome. She is Emma Morley, bottled red hair, wilfully badly dressed, all principles and no action. Could this be the dawn of the rest of their lives? Or are Dex and Em living proof that - despite an unlikely beginning - men and women really can be just good friends?
Nicholls was a writer on the cult TV series Cold Feet, and if you enjoyed watching that you will love listening to this!
I found myself chortling out loud and moved to tears in turns and totally absorbed by the two central characters.

Critically acclaimed comedian Frankie Boyle presents his hotly anticipated first live stand-up audio download. Recorded live during his sell-out shows at London’s Hackney Empire, Frankie’s unique brand of observational comedy and brutal but perfectly constructed one-liners prove he is one of the best gag writers in the business. As the stand-out act on top-rated satirical comedy show Mock the Week, the sharp-suited Scotsman shows us just a slice of what he’s capable of.
Not for the faint hearted this is VERY funny! Frankie Boyle crosses the line over and over again...
Fate is on its way to the tenants of 66 Star Street, bringing with it love and tragedy, friendship and heartbreak, and the power to change lives... One of them is falling in love; another is torn between two lovers. For some, secrets they want to stay buried will come to light, and for others, the unveiling of those secrets will have tragic consequences.
I had never listened to Marian Keyes on audio before, even though i love her books. And i really loved this one - i thought the narrator was perfect for this book and i'm keen to find everything else Gerri Halligan has read.
