When they discover that the victim's daughter is missing as well, they start to fear for the safety of the whole family.... Two days later, as a nearby house is set on fire, and with the body count rising, Lottie and her team begin to unpick a web of secrets and lies, as the murders seem to link back to a case investigated by Lottie's father before he took his own life.

This is book three which finds Nell knee deep in suitors which include Occam the werecat who would like nothing better than to pin our innocent Nell against a wall and Ben the college educated member of Gods Cloud of Glory church who would pull her back into the life she wants nothing to do with. Add that to realising her younger sister Mud is a dryad like her and she needs to help her not make the same mistakes she did when learning about herself.

Senator Toliver's family seems to be under fire whether from a bullet or strange fire, either way people are dying and unit 18 needs to find out why. Ricky-bo is still struggling with his cat (if you read the Yellowrock books too this crosses over with him returning to Nola and discovering that Jane has moved on and doesn't want anything to do with him)

As more people get hurt Nell uses her gift to work out what is happening to the land with some dire consequences.

Do love the end though......roll on book 4 please

So what a stonking good read. That ending was a twister that I didn't see coming, and the three witches, the so called bezzie mates well they showed their true colours.

Ethan and Sutton have it all, good looks, health, wealth and the perfect marriage. To top off this wonderful life Ethan is an author and Sutton is a writer. Yes you read that correctly that is how it is described. All will come clear as you read on.

Has Ethan been a naughty man, Sutton doesn't know, all she knows is she is becoming increasingly paranoid, is relying more and more on her friends who each hold secrets for her. But the morning that Ethan wakes up to discover her note saying she has gone away and please don't try to find me is what starts the ball rolling, gathering speed until he is arrested for her murder.

Where do I start, part of me enjoyed this whilst the other got stuck with the "duh really"

Tara Logon is married to Noah and they have two children Rosie and Spencer. They live in suburbia and the only grief in their trouble free life is their daughter Rosie who seems to have taken a large bite of the teen angst issues and run with all of them.

All is well until too much wine one evening whilst Noah is in New York she wakes to find herself in her neighbours bed with him and da da dah......he is dead. This is where my disbelief comes in, she gets up, grabs her clothes off the bedroom floor and runs home. In her head is the idea that if no one sees me then it didn't happen.

Where are the forensics, why are the police made to look like they are stupid, why does the lead investigator keep telling her what is happening.

I did finish it but my own disbelief sort of ruined it for me. Sorry.

I can see where this author is trying to give us a new Jack Reacher or Jason Bourne but sadly is failing miserably. I note the book already has film rights and that Mr Cruse is frothing at the mouth to play Court Gray. I can see why he was attracted to the role I just hope the movie comes over better than the audio book.

I digress, the gentleman reading it sounds like a computer reading - maybe this was the issue but I think not. The author has a writing style that borders on childlike.
