For reason or another, I think this is my favorite of the series. It might be because the structure of the crusade gives me a linear line over Europe ..Show More »the map the events. In the other books in the series it takes a bit more efforth to locate the story. Highly recommended series! Note: if you are a new listener, go find "Outlaw" book from the same author. It is the first on this series.

F..Show More »iction is woven into fact in a quite brilliant manner throughout. Amazing tales with brilliantly evil, great & good characters brought to life by excellent narration. I was spellbound throughout the whole journey. Angus is a seriously gifted writer and should be mentioned in a similar light to greats like Bernard Cornwell. It is rare to feel loss at the end of a series of books, however I'm feeling that right now....
