A stand-alone novel based on high-profile child abductions, which have been followed by millions of concerned parents on the news. Five-year-old twins are abducted from a tent in the Lake District and the hunt for a dangerous paedophile ring begins. Police procedure follows the premise that 60% of abducted children are murdered within the first four hours of being taken. The first hour is called "The golden hour" and the longer a child is missing, the less chance there is of them being recovered unharmed.

    Dreadful narration.

Didn't get more than 2 minutes into the book before turning it off. Can't comment on the story!

The discovery of a brutally murdered young woman in an abandoned factory unit draws Detective Alec Ramsay and his Major Investigation team into a complex web of crime in Liverpool's underworld in this gripping thriller from acclaimed suspense writer Conrad Jones.

Worst Narrator i have ever heard!

Great books seriously let down by a very poor, almost robotic narration.

DI Alec Ramsay is stretched to the limit as a serial killer stalks the bars of Liverpool's busy city center. Six months before, riots tore society apart when fuel supplies ran dry, and the Western world ground to a halt. The inner cities were plunged into lawlessness. As a fragile peace is restored, a young child disappears from home. Her father is critically injured at the scene along with three members of a drug gang.

When well-known community activist, Lacey Taylor goes missing whilst walking her dog, the police are at a loss to find any evidence as to where she is. A local man finds the collar, which belonged to her dog near Crosby Beach, home of the eerie Iron Men statues (Anthony Gormley's 'Another Place') and DI Annie Jones calls in the canine units to aid the search. What they find shocks even the most hardened detectives on her Major Investigation Team.

Dark and Gruesome - just how I like them!

What a fantastic story writer Conrad Jones is, this book has lots of twists and turns and moves along at a good pace. There is some gruesome violence..Show More »
