I have to say, clearly this is not my kind of story. I really could not associate with were-wolfs (weres) and never really made a connection with the ..Show More »characters. So much of the story is driven by the carnal needs of the weres dominating the story, that makes for great erotica, but overrode for me what would have been the developments in normal relationships. So I guess if ur into werewolves, pretty unique and exciting exotica, as well as a great strong lead, then its great. Sounds good, no? I just could not get into werewolves and their behaviors (or needs) dominating the story so much. I might try listening to the second one in the series but right now its on the back burning. Great narration for this as well from Maxine.
I have enjoyed all the books in the series but have come away from this one feeling as if it was all quickly thrown together. With each book I have en..Show More »joyed the introduction of new characters and the way they have been slotted into the continuing saga. Each additional character and plot line has moved the whole story on in a tantalising and seamless manner. However in this part of the series too much time was taken on one plot line, to the detriment of all the others. When a series is drawn out too long, there is always a danger of it becoming monotonous and the characters stagnant. This is definitely starting to happen with this series. There were no real surprises in this book. The saving grace that kept me going was how wonderfully it was read by the narrator Maxine Mitchell. There are so few lesbian quality sci-fi/fantasy novels made available on audible, I am grateful that LL Rand has been keeping my hunger are at bay though.
