What happened to Jacques Gaillard? The brilliant teacher at the École Nationale d'Administration, who trained some of France's best and brightest as future prime ministers and presidents, vanished ten years ago, presumably from Paris. This ten-year-old mystery inspires a bet-one that Enzo Macleod, a biologist teaching in Toulouse, France, instead of pursuing a brilliant career in forensics back home in Scotland, can ill afford to lose.

    Not my favourite Peter May

I do love Peter May's books, but I found this one to be too complicated and too 'clever', I did still enjoy it - I do agree with Peter May in his rece..Show More »

Not Available on Audible.co.uk Why not?

There are many reasons why a book might be unavailable.

Sometimes a book goes temporarily out of print - and sometimes no audio version has ever been recorded. Audible wants to give you the most complete selection we can and we'll keep adding series and filling in gaps as quickly as possible.

A promise made to a dying man leads forensics ace Enzo Macleod (a Scot who's been teaching in France for many years) to the study-a place the man's heir has preserved for nearly 20 years. The dead man left several clues there designed to reveal his killer's identity to the man's son, but ironically the son died soon after the father.

    Intriguing story

Held my interest from the start. Narration creating a dark and moody atmosphere for the listener.

When France's top chef, Marc Fraysse, summoned the world's press to make a shattering announcement, rumors abounded that he was about to lose one of his three coveted Michelin stars. Instead, on arrival at his remote restaurant on a volcanic plateau in central France, they were greeted with the news that the troubled genius had been murdered, and the message he intended to deliver was never made. Seven years later, his killing and the identity of his killer still remain an enigma.

    Enzo Files - Incomplete!

Love all Peter May's books but it is frustrating that not all the Enzo or China files are available on Audible.
