Stephanie is out of work and down on her luck, given a week by her cousin Vinnie to bring in a fugitive for a 10,000 dollar bounty. she needs the mone..Show More »y how hard can it be? The story of her attempt is fraught with mishap but our heroine is undeterrred. I really enjoyed this audiobook. Well read in brash American tones by C J Critt, Stephanies extended american/middle european family are brought to life. Stephanie's combative relationship with her quarry, and their developing romance are predictable but amusing nonetheless. Recomended as an easy listen with feel good factor.
I have read Janet Evanovich's books for years and find the Stephany Plum books so hysterically funny.... Listening to the stories now on audio is a g..Show More »reat sole relaxer...Comedy at it's best, brilliantly dramatised by the narrator, leaves me utterly engrossed and entertained... From Grandma Mazer, to Ranger via Plum's mishaps with Lula.... Just love, love, love this book and the whole manic Plum, the Bounty Hunter misfortunate sagas !!! just wonderful! thank you ....
As a big Stephanie Plum fan I was pleased when 19 was released, Ok it is pretty much the same as the others, but with such great characters who cares,..Show More » probably the funniest to date it had me laughing out loud on the train. Janet Evanovich has the uncanny knack of always managing to write "feel good" stuff. If I am feeling lonely, low or generally sorry for myself she never fails to cheer me up. Roll on 20.
Listened to top secret whilst poorly, constantly laughing is normally good for you, so why does my head hurt? Twists and turns almost lost me, but Lul..Show More »a sleeping in the rust bucket whilst it was stripped was too funny by far. Now for Twenty Two...
I love coming back to Stephanie Plum novels. Full of witty on liners, laugh out loud scrapes and improbable situations!
However, I now believ..Show More »e that I can never read a Stephanie Plum book! I can only consume it by audio book. Lorelei King gives each character such distinctive voices, that once heard, you would never need to wonder who is speaking! She is superb and completely spoils you against reading the novels yourself - even though I'm sure that you would still 'hear' the voices - Lula, Grandma M and Ranger are the perennial favourites!
And the story lines are always interesting and inventive, but somehow seem almost insignificant to the daily drama of Stephanie's life!
If you've never read a Stephanie Plumb novel, but saw the movie - don't let that dissuade you from listening to these. Go back to the beginning, you won't regret it! Enjoy!
