I tried this author for the first time as i love the narrator nick pohdel after listening to his version of "the name of the wind" but unfortunately t..Show More »his book is so slow. The author spends ages to say nothing and too much of the book is spent describing things that are not relevent to the story. Pohdel tries his best but cannot save this book.
I think the best way to explain this book is "slow". It's another typical Lacky novel, but not one of her best efforts, unfortunately.
Pickin..Show More »g up at some point after the last installment, "Changes", we get an in deep look at Valdemar. Whilst Bear and Lena get some plot, nothing really happens in the first half and the second half could have been told in half the space. I think the thing that really irritated me was the "plot twist" about Mags which was painfully obvious from even the plot synopsis. Urgh.
I often see in the other reviews the complaints that this series could've been a much stronger trilogy, rather than 5 books. I agree with this whole heartedly! This series started off really strongly, but has been getting weaker with each progressive book. Disapointing.
