Who are you? What have we done to each other? What will we do? Just how well can you ever know the person you love? These are the questions that Nick Dunne must ask himself on the morning of his fifth wedding anniversary, when his wife Amy suddenly disappears. The police immediately suspect Nick. Amy's friends reveal that she was afraid of him, that she kept secrets from him. He swears it isn't true. A police examination of his computer shows strange searches. He says they aren't his. And then there are the persistent calls on his mobile phone.

I got this book as highly recommended everywhere The voices for the audiobook were really annoying and did not add anything to the story Basically I felt as if I should read it to the end as I expected to suddenly love it as everyone else seems to do I gave up halfway before Christmas and had to drag myself back to it last week and finished it today

I won't say too much as don't want to spoil the plot but basically all the characters especially Nick and Amy are not interesting and to be honest I have wished that Nick could have been spirited away with Amy at the beginning to save us the annoyance of reading They are both toxic and really felt no empathy or understanding with either of them and felt they deserved each other They may be a product of their family life and upbringing but who cares 'Go' Nicks sister is totally spineless and again no empathy with her The plot was so unbelievable in parts especially re planting finger print evidence sperm storage and use etc Does not ring true and as such no value I wish I hadn't wasted my time reading on to the end Would give it zero star if I could I really cannot imagine why it is so popular!

I was really looking forward to this and just feel that it is an ok story but feel that it is not quite believable and the ending between Beba and Karen does not ring through. If you wish an easy read then fine but if you want to feel story is possibly believable then maybe reconsider

An unidentified corpse is recovered from a peat bog on the Isle of Lewis, Scotland. News of the discovery soon reaches Fin Macleod. However, since swapping his life in Edinburgh for a quiet existence on Lewis, such mysteries are no longer a concern for the former Detective Inspector. Or so he thought. The sequel to the Blackhouse which was selected for the WH Smith Richard and Judy Bookclub, and the second book in the Lewis triology.

This was in my opinion even of higher quality than the first book in the trilogy. I was so sad to come to the end really looking forward to book 3. Well read by Peter Forbes I felt.
