This is an excellent book by Jo Nesbo, brilliant first audio contribution from the Author and found the narrator Shaun Barrett to be very easy on the ear and able to slip easily from one character to the next. Looking forward to future installments from this author, keep the coming.

The Culture - a human/machine symbiotic society - has thrown up many great Game Players, and one of the greatest is Gurgeh: Jernau Morat Gurgeh, The Player of Games, master of every board, computer, and strategy. Bored with success, Gurgeh travels to the Empire of Azad, cruel and incredibly wealthy, to try their fabulous game... a game so complex, so like life itself, that the winner becomes emperor.

'I believe there is another man inside every man, a stranger....' writes Wilfred Leland James in the early pages of the riveting confession that makes up '1922', the first in this pitch-black quartet of mesmerising tales from Stephen King, linked by the theme of retribution. For James, that stranger is awakened when his wife Arlette proposes selling off the family homestead and moving to Omaha, setting in motion a gruesome train of murder and madness.

Now, with the entire city corrupted - from the people to the very buildings they inhabit---only the most wretched sort of existence remains.
