He is Dexter Mayhew, tall, dark, and (she can't deny it) handsome. She is Emma Morley, bottled red hair, wilfully badly dressed, all principles and no action. Could this be the dawn of the rest of their lives? Or are Dex and Em living proof that - despite an unlikely beginning - men and women really can be just good friends?

On the night of the State of the Union address, President James Allaire expects to give the speech of his career. But no one anticipates the terrifying turn of events that forces him to quarantine everyone in the Capitol building. A terrorist group calling itself "Genesis" has unleashed WRX3883, a deadly, highly contagious virus, into the building. No one fully knows the deadly effect of the germ except for the team responsible for its development-a team headed by Allaire, himself.

I am a huge Michael Palmer fan, the king of medical thrillers , so I very pleased to see AudibleUK has now got some more of his books.

Although I'm not at all a big fan of political books, I loved this one. As typical with all michael Palmer , it is a fast paced suspence novel that keeps you guessing throughout.

Danger and violence have always been part of Sue Dalston's East End upbringing. Unloved by her mother, abused by her father, and brutalised throughout her entire marriage, she smashed her husband's skull in a final act of desperation. All that keeps her sane knows that she's done it to protect her four children. At last, they are safe from harm. When she is celled up with murderess Matilda Enderby, their fates become inextricably linked. And no one - least of all Sue - could have predicted the consequences...

I felt that the discription of this book doesn't really discribe much about the true storyline of this book. But that said , I really enjoyed this book (if enjoy is the right word you can use about a book describing the abominable treatment of women !!!!) , this is Martina Cole when she's on form !!!

A different narrator to the other MC books , but Jacquelie King did a really good job.

I'm so glad audible have obtained more of Martina Coles older books , there have been a lot of them I've missed out on , I look forward to listening to them

She gets her chance when she lands a position as a lady's companion, her charge the disabled daughter of a well-to-do London family. Millie adores her work, and even starts to develop feelings for the son of the house. But years later a tragic accident causes Millie to lose her job and, along with it, the life she so loved. The story of a mother, her son, a locked room, and the outside world. It's Jack's birthday, and he's excited about turning five. Jack lives with his Ma in Room, which has a locked door and a skylight, and measures 11 feet by 11 feet. He loves watching TV, and the cartoon characters he calls friends, but he knows that nothing he sees on screen is truly real - only him, Ma and the things in Room. Until the day Ma admits that there's a world outside....

A sweeping debut, perfect for reading groups and fans of Kate Morton and Downton Abbey - a beautiful and haunting story of lost innocence and a powerful, enduring love.Clarissa is almost seventeen when the spell of her childhood is broken. It is 1914, the beginning of a blissful, golden summer - and the end of an era. Deyning Park is in its heyday, the large country house filled with the laughter and excitement of privileged youth preparing for a weekend party.

I enjoy a good love story , but this one dragged on and on .... and really got on my nerves !!. A lot of the time nothing much going on, just moaning about how much she loved him bla bla bla
On Audible was advertized as being like Downton Abbey,(which I loved ) well it might have been set in the same era , but it was nowhere near as good otherwise. certainly did not live up to my expectations at all.
