When literature student Anastasia Steele interviews successful entrepreneur Christian Grey, she finds him very attractive and deeply intimidating. Convinced that their meeting went badly, she tries to put him out of her mind - until he turns up at the store where she works part-time, and invites her out. Unworldly and innocent, Ana is shocked to find she wants this man. And, when he warns her to keep her distance, it only makes her want him more.

Where to start........ I down loaded this book not really knowing anything about the story line and just thought it was your average 'love story'. The actual concept could have been quite good i.e that sort of relationship struggling with such a damaged soul, but I am afraid for me it is so poorly written it ruins anything it could have been! The author obviously has a very limited knowledge of words and phrases as it repeats the same lines over and over again. At one point I thought if she says 'OH MY' one more time I may throw my MP3 out of the window. When the two main characters are emailing we have to hear the web address, date, time, subject, who its from EVERY single time. It gets very boring. Its a shame as I dont even mind the fact the the story is over the top it could have been quite a good story as it is so different from anything else. I did listen right to the end as I hate to waste my precious credits, but it was quite painful at times. I even found the sex boring after a while and I certainly wont bother with the sequels!!

Catherine has been enjoying the single life for long enough to know a good catch when she sees one. Gorgeous, charismatic, spontaneous - Lee seems almost too perfect to be true. And her friends clearly agree, as each in turn falls under his spell. But there is a darker side to Lee. His erratic, controlling and sometimes frightening behaviour means that Catherine is increasingly isolated. Driven into the darkest corner of her world, and trusting no one, she plans a meticulous escape.

I was unsure what to say in this review. To say I enjoyed listening to this seems wrong somehow, yet I really did enjoy it. At times it had me in tears and is quite harrrowing in places, especially thinking about the thousands of people going through abuse like this every day. I am not sure it really needed the two narrators as I thought the main one was very good.

I am a big Peter James fan so bought this and was interested as it looked diffrent from his Roy Grace books. Like the previous review I too found the narrator slighly irritating but because I was gripped and intruiged by the story I stuck with it! I am so glad I did as I thorougly enjoyed it and was hooked to the end. A really great story with a gentle warning about science messing with nature, there is always a price to pay!
