    Story

What an absolutely lovely book, narrated beautifully by David Tennant. A moving story, tackling very difficult issues, seen through the innocent eyes of a 10yr old boy. This book is suitable for boys and girls age 10+, right through to adults. In fact I can't help thinking that adults will get so much more out of this book.
    Very highly recommended.

For 18 years, the Hartes and the Golds have lived next door to each other, sharing everything from Chinese food to chicken pox to carpool duty. Parents and children alike are best friends ¿ so it's no surprise that in high school Chris and Emily's friendship blossoms into something more. They've been soul mates since they were born.

Another compelling story from Jodi Picoult. She writes these powerful courtroom dramas so well I find it hard to switch them off. It's a shame that this version is abridged.

Entertaining and funny book read beautifully by Michael. He describes the long hard slog it was for him to get his big break in show business. Using humour and sincerity, he describes honestly, the ups and downs of his life. Recommended.

The story of a mother, her son, a locked room, and the outside world. It's Jack's birthday, and he's excited about turning five. Jack lives with his Ma in Room, which has a locked door and a skylight, and measures 11 feet by 11 feet. He loves watching TV, and the cartoon characters he calls friends, but he knows that nothing he sees on screen is truly real - only him, Ma and the things in Room. Until the day Ma admits that there's a world outside....

I did enjoy this book but am left feeling slightly disappointed that it didn't move me in the way I expected it to. There was a lot I liked about it, it is well written, well narrated and well thought out. The story should have been gripping, but but the exception of one section, it wasn't.
    Worth downloading though.

Though a little frustrating at first with a slow start, I was soon hooked. The twists and turns of the story took me in all sorts of directions but it wasn't until the last moments of the book that it all fell into place - brilliant. A highly recommended listed.

Daniel Tammet can perform extraordinary maths in his head, sees numbers as shapes, colours, textures, and motions, and can learn to speak a language fluently from scratch in three days. He also has a compulsive need for order and routine. He eats exactly 45 grams of porridge for breakfast and cannot leave the house without counting the number of items of clothing he's wearing. If he gets stressed or unhappy, he closes his eyes and counts. But in some ways, Daniel is not all like the Rain Man.

What a truly fascinating insight into a fascinating mind.
Even with his savant ability, there are aspects of his everyday life that are a constant challenge. It is inspiring how he has learnt to manage these problems.
I appreciate the time he has taken to describe his thoughts and feelings.

    Story

I didn't enjoy listening to this book. I persevered through to the end but I found it irritating in so many ways.
It's very American and it doesn't relate well to the UK system.
I hated all the prayer needed to "cure" a child's autism.
I am glad the intense ABA therapy worked for this family but I objected to the idea that autistic kids should be made "normal"
As a parent of autistic children, I have read hundreds of books on the subject but this is not one I could recommend.

  • How to Satisfy a Woman Every Time - and Have Her Beg for More!

The genesis of this work is interviews Naura Hayden conducted with close to 500 women through which she learned that most had faked an orgasm during sex at some point in their lives, and that 60% of them faked orgasm every time they had sex. Hayden realized what these women, and their men - needed was not another fancy sex manual full of complicated positions, but a simple, straightforward work with real advice.
"One tip lost in lots of spouting"

    Story

There is 1 really good technique described in this
book that could be written on one page and
summarised in a single word - TEASE.
Not just a bit of foreplay but real serious teasing.

The problem is, that message gets lost in chapters
of rubbish. Preaching about how God's love is so
important and sweeping generalisations about how bad
    men are in bed.

It's a shame, because the technique has potential
(though I hated the way she described parts of it)
but I could never recommend this book to anyone.
