Journalist, presenter, broadcaster, husband, father, vigorous all-rounder - Alan Partridge - a man with a fascinating past and an amazing future. Gregarious and popular, yet Alan's never happier than when relaxing in his own five-bedroom, south-built house with three acres of land and access to a private stream. But who is this mysterious enigma? Alan Gordon Partridge is the best - and best-loved - radio presenter in the region. Born into a changing world of rationing, Teddy Boys, apes in space and the launch of ITV, Alan's broadcasting career began as chief DJ of Radio Smile....

    Story

As a fan of the shows I was instantly drawn to this book and it is Brilliant.

The book tells the life story of Alan Partridge and ties wonderfully into the TV shows. It does a brilliant job of telling the story from Alans point of view - a view which differs somewhat from what we all witnessed during the shows.

This is made even better by the whole thing being read by Steve Coogan in charecter as Mr Partridge.
It adds so much to the whole experience of this wonderfully written book.

If you are a fan of the show or remember watching them at the time - listen to this book it is really funny!!

First contact: the dream that became a nightmare when the first alien life encountered swarmed locust-like through the solar system. Merciless. Relentless. Unstoppable. With little hope of halting the invading forces, Earth's last, desperate roll of the die was to send out three colony ships - seeds of Earth - to different parts of the galaxy.

    Story

Really good story and very well narated.

However the story is incredibly difficult to follow and i have to say I was relieved once I got through it.

The actual story being told is great, the people potrayed are believable and certainly help to draw you in. The back and forth nature of the book which jumps between various side stories is very difficult to follow, however I really enjoyed and was relieved that it was not as "spacey" as I first thought it would be.
