The Daylight War: Demon Trilogy, Book 3

I'd been waiting so long for this to be released that when it appeared I eagerly downloaded it, not thinking to sample it first. Shock horror! A new narrator and with an American accent! I really don't think I can listen to this now. Such a shame.

I can't listen to this, the narrator ruins it. It's all told in an American accent now even for the people who are clearly not meant to have it.



The original narrator was much better.



I hate it when they change the narrator in the middle of a series.



I do not recommend this as an audiobook.

Why have audible released the American version in the UK? Pete Bradbury narated the US versions of book 1 & 2 while Peter Joyce narated the UK versions so why change halfway through the series. Very annoying



The book itself is amazing and just as good as the previous 2. However, the change of narator has took the shine off listening to it.

Great book, well written.



However, since I'm reviewing an audio book - I have to consider its narration. Terrible. I can imagine that Pete Bradbury narrates other books rather well. He's not terrible - but the decision to have him narrate this book really is: terrible.



Buy the book. Not the audio book.



Bring back Peter Joyce!

When I downloaded this Audiobook, I thought that it would have been narrated by Peter Joyce, as the first two, to my deepest and most disappointing astonishment I had to listed to this awful, terrible and foreign American narrator who clearly had no idea of what it is that he was doing. Why oh why did I buy this, if only I had known I would never have bothered, Do not waste your time, or money, read the book yourselves, you will do it much better justice. A dreadful interpretation, I deleted the audio book after the first three chapters as I just could not bear it any longer. I have since written to Audible to ask for a refund. It just goes to show when producers do not understand the product they are handling and put someone incompetent in the narrators seat, you get reviews like this one. Well done!!!!

As a blind listener you bond with characters by accents. changing a narrator half way through a series makes this wonderful book impossible to follow. ive been waiting for this book for over a year. :(

Shame they switched authors halfway through the damn series! Totally ruined the experience. I may return this book ( it would be my first return)

The book itself is good but it was a hard slog to listen to the new narrator

One of the most awaited books of this year ruined by the change of narrator. Couldn't get past the 1st 10 mins. Would give it Zero Stars if I could.

I've listened to the first 2 audiobooks and they were great, the narrator was perfect. With the 3rd they have an American narrator and whilst he does try, if like me you still have the old books stuck in your head it will be difficult to get used to with this one - the story is great but whereas in the first two there was emphasis on certain words, it just doesn't have the same impact with this audiobook. All i can say is that if you love the demon trilogy story then you're going to have to be patient and stick with it or just buy the paperback. For me i am sticking with it and trying to enjoy it, though it is hard work. It would have gotten 5 stars if they had stuck with the old narrator but for this reason alone i'm marking it down to 2.
