"Dodgy Audio"
I downloaded this yesterday and have listened to 20 minutes of chapter 1. The audio is appalling, with a weird echo or phasing effect that makes it pretty much unlistenable.
Will be contacting audible to feed this back. I expected more, very disappointed
The star rating is for the audio quality as I've not yet been able to listen to the book!
"there are much better running books out there"
I bought this after reading the inspirational 'born to run'.
If you haven't read born to run get it instead of this.
If you have read born to run you will only be disappointed by this.
Not only does this book not deliver on the promise to reveal tips and secrets (which BTR does), but the author, who reads it himself has an annoying, whiney voice.
On top of that everything is very US centric, as though the author doesn't know there is a world outside the US. Fine if you are an American, annoying if you are not.
"Inspirational"
For anyone with even a passing interest in running this audio book is a must, even non runners would find it inspiring. Runners into extreme distances will love listening to the story of this remarkable ultra runner. The only gripe....it's abridged.... Little snippets on what it takes to be an ultra runner and totally down to earth from the author.
