"With secondary characters that are just as strongly written and a story that runs smoothly this engrossing story will keep the reader's attention till the very last page." (Rainbow-Reviews.com)
"A fresh and interesting shapeshifter story"
I normally avoid books written in the first person but this story was a wonderful exception to the rule. The characters are well rounded, interesting, and believable. Jin is a were-panther who doesn't want anything to do with the were-panther society after he was thrown out of his own pack, along with his childhood friend Crane. Circumstances beyond his control change that and he copes with humor and pragmatism.
Calmes is an inventive and imaginative writer and I am looking forward to the continuation of this series.Well, pretty much any other books from her :).
"Fabulous"
This title was my debut to both Mary Calmes and the narator Sean Crisden. Off the bat I was blown away by the narators enthusiastic performance, in stiches in the funny bits on edge in the action and enraptured by the sexy scenes. He really made the characters live for me, I even got used to the nasal voice of Jin's best frient Crane. The story itself is a wonderful M/M shapeshifter romance with a twist. Not particularly original, however excellently written and engaging to the very last moment. Listening to this will have you running to buy her other works.
"Change of Heart"
This has to be my favourite book this year. I feel in love with all of the very well written characters. I have listened to it a thousand time and do not tire of it. The friendships and loves that unfold are great. It makes you wish you had relationships like them.
