Summary
The sixth instalment in the historic, hysterical and horrific Skulduggery Pleasant series. Think you’ve seen anything yet? You haven’t. Because the Death Bringer is about to rise…
The Necromancers no longer need Valkyrie to be their Death Bringer, and that’s a Good Thing. There’s just one catch. There’s a reason the Necromancers don’t need her any more. And that’s because they’ve found their Death Bringer already, the person who will dissolve the doors between life and death. And that’s a very, very Bad Thing….

Good book, but don't like the narrator.
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I would recommend, but if you like consistency, don't listen on here. The narrator is different.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Death Bringer?
There were many memorable moments, but I feel that the most memorable and shocking one was when the "toxic twins" started to become friends with Valcary.
Would you be willing to try another one of Stephen Hogan’s performances?
Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy this one, however in all fairness this could be due to the fact I've only ever heard Rupert Degas read these books before. I like to remain open minded and therefore I would listen to another performance by him.
Was Death Bringer worth the listening time?
I would say that it was 70% worth my time, however I had to get used to recognising the change in voices from Rupert Degas to Stephen Hogan.
Any additional comments?
I would have liked it a lot more if Rupert Degas had continued to read the books, however I understand this is not always possible. I feel that Stephen Hogan did a good job in trying though.

Unbelievable
This amazing book has but beaten my expectations once again. starting of with a Mystery and ending with a tragic finish. I would give this book 11 out of 10. The way the author has managed to separate facts and mythic stories together into one book. Its a white knuckle roller-coaster. This book has already made an extreme amount of attention form not just teenagers like myself but with also adults aswell.
Amazing book, i hope that the author does not finish writing.

another amazing novel
pure skulduggery pleasant goodness. personally, I don't like long series but this is one of the best series out there. maybe the accents were a little much for my liking but I honestly think that I'm only saying that because I can't find anything else wrong with it.
bravo 👏.

Amazing book!
Amazing author, brilliant narrator, and beautiful story. Absolutely exceptional. Very impressed with how much easier it is to listen than to read. Perfection, perfection, perfection! 😋

Great book, meh narrator
i didn't get the audiobook for mortal coil, i decided to read it instead and i was disappointed that rupert degas wasn't narrating deathbringer, he did a great job at voicing all the characters in the previous stories, but stephan hogan just seems kinda naf and the characters don't really feel believable. regardless of the narrator it was still a great story :)

I love it
I’ve been reading this series since I was 8 so that’s about 5 years! I love all the books, and especially like the audio books!

Brilliant new Narrator!
After listening to the previous books, it took me by surprise when I found out this book has a new Narrator. However, it is a good change in pace and refreshing to hear someone else's delivery of the story. As always, each character is given a unique voice and personality and Skulduggery's voice is as smooth as described in the first book. An accurate representation. Enjoyable from start to finish

Chapters wrongly set
It infuriates me that all the Skullduggery books haven't had their chapters in Audible aligned with the actual chapters. It makes navigating the book much more difficult, for example setting a sleep timer to "end of chapter"

Not Quite the Right Narrator
If you need a non-fiction book read, Stephen Hogan is your guy. Great voice, nice timbre.
But for a book containing multiple different character voices, this is woeful miscasting, because Hogan just can't hold a candle to his predecessors.
His female characters are no good. His accents are no good. His voice differentiation...not good. These are tricky things, but a professional voice artist given a multi-book gig needs to be able to overcome these kinds of challenges.
What's even more baffling are the straight up inconsistencies from previous books. Frightening Jones has gone from an African man to a bad Patrick Stewart impersonator. Jaron Gallow has changed from a soft spoken Frenchman to a crass Yorkshire miner. Thrasher YELLS EVERYTHING FOR NO REASON.
A little bit of research might not have gone awry when you're taking over at book six.
Hogan has the reins for the rest of the series, so I might as well get used to it. But it really is a shame that after cycling through three voice actors in just six books, THIS is the one that stuck around.
I only hope he took on some feedback.
