R is a zombie. He has no name, no memories, and no pulse, but he has dreams. He is a little different from his fellow Dead. Amongst the ruins of an abandoned city, R meets a girl. "Alright book. Very badly chosen/cast narrator"
The book/story itself was ok. Not amazing or great, but interesting and at times amusing. Storyline took a while to get going and even when it did there were times where the pace was simply too slow - R did too much pondering, but I guess that's a zombie hazard. I've seen the trailer and before reading the book was desperate to see the film, having read the book I am now less enthusiastic.
I've listened to countless audio books, the narrators can be hit and miss, but the narrator on Warm Bodies was particularly appalling. He sounds like an old man and it was difficult to deal with this in relation to R's romance with teenager Julie. He was also too theatrical and his nuances were extremely annoying.
