The War is over, the RAF uniform has been handed in, and Herriot goes back to work in the Yorkshire Dales. Plenty has changed in Darrowby but the blunt-spoken local folk and their stream of four-legged patients are still the same.

"A way of life Every Reader will want"
The Sheer Beauty of the countryside and joy the writer experiences and expresses in these books is unsurpassed by any book I have read, you will want to spend every moment possible feeling the warmth surrounding James Herriott and laughing and crying with him and the people he comes into contact with in his daily rounds
"The Lord God made them all"
Another cracking listen by the well loved author. Well written with the super Christopher Timothy narrating. Makes you want to go to the countryside and hug a tree. A beautiful and very funny self autobiography
