"Unusual and gripping story"
I've enjoyed a number of books featuring Rizzoli and Isles, including this latest in the series. The author creates inventive scenarios and the backdrop to this book is particularly unusual as it involves techniques of mummification and other methods of preserving bodies. If you've followed the series many of the characters will be familiar: Jane Rizzoli the fearless female cop and her FBI-profiler husband; Maura Isles the elegant medical examiner and her secret clerical lover; Rizolli's police partner, Frost's character is fleshed out a bit more in this book. It's a pacy story with some unexpected twists. Maura doesn't figure so much in this book as much of the forensic examination involves botany and archaeological knowledge, the details of which I found interesting. The book is gruesome in parts, as to be expected from this author, as dead bodies pile up, but the detail is not too explicit.
"Rizzoli and Isles is..."
One of the best crime thriller series' I have read/listened to! Being unable to read books most of the time it makes it so much easier to listen and when read by Lorelei it's like being part of the story itself. And the story, that I would give 11/10 stars.
