People start moving into the house, filling it with noise, laughter, and tears. Among them is Daniel, a recently divorced father of two girls, and Daff, the single mother of a truculent teenager.
As the house comes to life again, Nan finds her family extending. Her son comes home for the summer and then an unexpected visitor arrives, turning all their lives upside down.

"Recommended"
This author was recommended to me by an american friend and I thoroughly enjoyed this pleasant, feel-good story. Likable well written characters and a vivid picture of Nantucket Island, a place that I'd never heard of but now have a mental picture of.
Definately an author I shall listen to more books by.
"Love it!"
I bought this one as it was fairly cheap and I felt like something easy to digest. I was pleasantly surprised at how lovely the story is and how easy it flows. I truly enjoyed every minute of it! Buy it!
"absorbing and entertaining listen"
A great holiday or commute listen. Lots of threads brought together via various twists to form a satisfying and surprising ending. Likeable, realistic characters you rather wish really existed, so that you could go and have a holiday with them all on Nantucket! Very enjoyable and beautifully read by Lorelei King. I will be ordering more of Jane Green's books.
"The Beach House"
This book is a lovely read - like a nice Sunday afternoon film.
It's not what you think it will be starting with an older heroine. Definitely worth while!
"Really rather good"
A Jane Green classic - sweet, obvious romance that feels real and undramaticised. I cried, laughed, smiled almost always and sat in my car until the end of each chapter even when it made me late for work/dinner... that's got to be a good sign
