"BRILLIANT"
the 2nd book is fab its certainly a page turner .and the story gets deaper my house lay untouched for nearly three days i could,nt stop listening to it
"read all reviews before buying ...."
This book sounds great but the narrators voice is terrible, really irratating, which you wouldnt pick up on from the sample but as she has to repeat the same awful 'Oh My's' and 'Holy Sxxt's on average every couple of minutes it really goes through you.
Very dissapointed with the end which completely left me feeling a bit ripped off for the credit i'd wasted. I suppose its so that you will feel compelled to buy the next book but honestly it wasnt good enough to waste more credits.
"On the downward spiral but I still read it!"
After the first book, I felt I needed to get the rest of the story - the sex almost got in the way tbh because it was same stuff in different places with different extras!
After I'd finished it, I couldn't possibly have told you what happened - it is probably the least memorable of all three books.
I won't comment on the actual language/words - not to my taste - sorry.
Still glad I listened - sometimes just being able to discuss the current hyped stuff is enough!
"Waste of my life!"
Really tried to get into this trilogy, but it was too hard to listen to rubbish! I was losing the will to live!
"More rubbish from this trilogy"
Don't buy into the hype. Bought all 3 at once.......big mistake. I rarely write reviews but this book was so bad had to warn others.
One star for me for getting to the last chapter
"Mm..... MORE! of the same............"
I have now read all three titles in the series, & generally found there was not enough substance to the storey line for me. I felt it was ultimately just a vehicle for the readers education/titillation in S&M activity. The characters were fairly predictable, and the narrator did quite well to inject some life into them. Not really my kind of book ( I like historical mystery), but it no doubt has appeal to some judging by the talk about it when first released & sales figures.
"At best it's repetitive"
By the time I got to chapter 12 the narrators whiny voice was making me feel physically sick. When reading the book you can scan past email headers and sign offs, but for some reason the author included a trail of emails and read through the sign off in each one --- yawn. The sex is unimaginative, the storyline slow, the expletives are repetitive and irritating. Feel pity for anyone who has paid full price for this.
"BRILLIANT - Have listened to this twice already"
I loved these books very much...now I would like to hear it all again from Christian Grey's Perspective...
"shades of good"
I did enjoy the narrator she made the book come alive for me. I think the book is badly written but who am I to say it as I would not be able to write one. It was just the constant repeating of discretionary words. The story was ok, I enjoyed the e-mailing. I think that was what made me listen till I was hooked into the story. The sex The games etc... it was ok but not as full on as I was lead to believe. All in all, it passed the time while I was in hospital and it made for some good conversations and comment I was not expecting. I think there is a little Fifty in all of us...."she flushed" hahahaha
"Fifty Shades Darker: Book Two"
Much more of a story in this the second book of the trilogy. Still racy and explicit, but not as much as the first book. A chance to see into the characters a bit more. Made it more interesting than just listening to the sexual exploits of the characters.
