Shelter (Adult Edition): A Mickey Bolitar Novel

The story ended SO abruptly that I actually thought my iPod Touch had skipped a section and re-ran the ending. No, it really does end that strangely. Kind of left me unimpressed and cross I'd wasted time on a story without a proper ending. Disappointing IMO.

I did enjoy this book, I will confess that I am a Harlan Coben fan, but somehow the book sort of ended without proper explanations. There were far too many loose ends for my liking. Coincidences and the drawing together of various characters in obscure fashion didn't convince me and left me a trifle confused. I still thought it worth a read though.

I think I am rather easy to please, but this book I never liked. The characters never convinced me, neither did the plot. Always had a feeling that the author struggled to write this book. And I must admit, I have not listened to it to the end. After I had struggled for 5 hours with it, I felt a strong relief when i realised that I did not have to. Life is too short.

It was as if in mid phrase, the author suddenly tired of this particular story and decided to end it. All sorts of threads left unresolved, an incoherent finishing line, quite awful. Not to be recommended...

The reader did a good enough job, a pleasant, non-descript American voice. The story, however, was not particularly gripping, and as for the ending, quite ridiculous. I don"t quite know what i was expecting but over all i was disappointed, don"t get me wrong the book was interesting but just lacked something that makes a good adult read, it just felt like i was reading a teenage book.



To be honest i thought the plot was a bit fare fetched but i enjoyed it. The book is a fast pace and scenes change without the reader realising it, it keeps you gripped.

I bought this when Audible had a promo. I took a "flyer", since I had never read , or listened to, any of Harlan Coben's works. I am so glad I bought it.

The amazing , and somewhat complex plots, are so well interwoven, that the characters come to life so quickly. Spoon, Eima and Micky, soon become like friends you have always known. After finishing this one, I went on to seek out more, and bought the sequel, which was also fantastic.

I have read a lot of Coben's 'Myron' books and was reluctant to read the new 'Mickey' ones but was plesently surprised. I will look out for the next one.

Never to be out done by the quality of these books, and to have the twist of it not involving MR. M himself in this but his nephew is brilliant.

Rediculous characterisations and the ending made the previous 7hrs and 51min a total waste of time as it is so rushed.
