Publisher's Summary

Hiccup was a Viking hero - dashing, brave and ever so clever. But even Viking heroes have to begin somewhere. In this riproaring adventure he recounts his early days - when he still had a lot to learn about swordfights, shipwrecks, and homicidal dragons.

    "Fantastic audio book"

David Tennant does a stellar job bringing the story to life. Even if you are not a kid anymore, Cressida Cowell's tales of Hiccup are so much fun to listen to that it is seriously addictive. Shame though that this is an abridged version.

    "As good as Fishlegs' squint"

Another in the series of entertaining and well narrated adventures. David Tennant reads the books with clarity, feeling and humour. The story (like the other ones) is beautifully ridiculous. Cressida Cowell won't win any prizes for well crafted plots or subtle storytelling but she spins a fine yarn about these junior Vikings and their comic ways. My kids (6 and 8) loved it and the older one has since gone on to read the whole series after listening to the first three. Perfect for car family car journeys...
