One windy spring day in the Chilterns Joe Rose's calm, organized life is shattered by a ballooning accident. The afternoon, Rose reflects, could have ended in mere tragedy, but for his brief meeting with Jed Parry.
Unknown to Rose, something passes between them - something that gives birth in Parry to an obsession so powerful that it will test to the limits Rose's beloved scientific rationalism, threaten the love of his wife Clarissa and drive him to the brink of murder and madness.

"In lesser hands, the story might be overwrought and unbelievable, but McEwan's terse, lucid prose and sure grasp of character give resonance to this superb anatomy of obsession and exploration of the mind under extreme circumstance. Painful and powerful work by one of England's best novelists." (Kirkus Reviews)
"Really Good Read/Listen."
Enduring Love was the first title I bought from audible and I was not disappointed. Having the book read to me was, at first a little strange to get used to bit after a while I settled into the book and began to really enjoy it! The story line is great, it kept me wanting to listen on, the narration was believable and not patronising at all, which I expected it to be. I found that having it on my iPhone made it more accessible meaning I could listen on bus, train and even on long at journeys. As an A-Level student I found it really helpful to be able to get through a book without having to sit with it 24/7. It meant that whilst we were set reading in class I could put my headphone in and not have to carry a book around all day! Thanks Audible!
