"Not what I was looking for"
If you are interested in learning about French culture and listening to two people flirt in English for a few hours with a tiny bit of language then this is for you.
If you want to learn to speak and understand French there are much better products around such as the Collins French series and the Michel Thomas series.
"Yadda Yadda get on with it will yer..."
Chit chat and pod cast magazine style got a bit slow after a while.
I was keen to learn conversation and actually get to grips with things. This was a frothy Magazine format that deals as much with the relationship between the presenters, as it did with the language.
I guess it's more of an introduction to the French culture and entry point language for a distant US audience, I live more local to France and know they like to strike and eat snails, I didn't need a nice American man to be surprised at the very notion. Apart from the political insecurities of right wing America I didn't dislike the book but just lost patience waiting for the language learning to start.
I apologise if this is much later in the book as I didn't get to the end, life is too short, I just want to go to France and it would be nice to say a few words.
