The Pimsleur® Method has worked for millions all over the world. Totally portable; simple to use; Pimsleur works so you don't have to. German Phase 1, Unit 1 contains 30 minutes of spoken language practice, with an introductory conversation, and isolated vocabulary and structures. Detailed instructions enable you to understand and participate in the conversation. The lesson contains full practice for all vocabulary introduced in this unit. The emphasis is on pronunciation and comprehension, and on learning to speak German.

"Pimsleur programs provide plenty of positive reinforcement that will keep learners on track, and we found that Pimsleur gave us more proficiency and confidence in speaking the new language than any of the other language programs we reviewed." (AudioFile magazine)
"A most comprehensive audio course"
This is easily the most comprehensive audio-only course I have been able to find. This version from Audible is the 3rd edition of a very fine programme that has been around since the mid-nineties but this edition is a big improvement on the original -- and at a far lower price. I worked through Phase 1 from the earlier version and thoroughly enjoyed it as I always felt I was easily making good progress, I am now halfway through Audible's Phase 2.
There are 4 Phases, the first three consist of 30 half-hour lessons which give the student a considerable amount of time to practice his newly-acquired language skills. Phase 4 contains ten more 30 minute lessons to polish up everything he has learned. would think that by the end the student will be able to travel through Germany and Austria easily and be able to converse with people with relative ease.
The only other audio course to rival this one is the Michel Thomas Course -- but I much prefer this one
"Super experience"
I was skeptical about this German language program but I just wanted to give it a try. I am really satisfied with the method with which the speaker introduces the listener to the language. His repetitive/reminder mode of teaching is helping me to remember more and more German vocabs.
"German Phase 1, Unit 01" by Pimsleur"
thought this was pretty good,i worked in germany for about 9 months and it was very useful, even german grammer is not that hard when you get into it, and found a big difference with german people as they become very helpful as i started to speak small bits at a time. : )
