The death of a child and what seems to be a murderous puppet make a perfect case for Bryant and May and the Peculiar Crimes Unit. As John May and his team interrogate the suspects, Arthur Bryant heads into the secret world of illusions and stagecraft. As a second impossible death occurs, the detectives uncover forgotten museums and London eccentrics. The stage is set for a race against time with a surprising twist...

"Fascinating tale"
One of the best the Punch and Judy history fascinating .
Tim Goodman brings all the characters to life with his wonderful accents and tone changes
I have long been a Bryant and May fan May the P.C.U.go on for many years
"I can’t get enough of Bryant & May!"
The Memory of Blood is another great book by Christopher Fowler and follows the continuing adventures of the peculiar crimes unit. I love all the characters of the PCU and how they have become as vital to the plots as the main protagonists themselves. Arthur Bryant and John May lead the team into another particularly tricky case in this book, in true PCU fashion there’s lots going on, strange deaths, unusual characters and secrets and illusion keep the suspense up throughout. If you enjoyed the previous adventures of these two eccentric detectives then you will love this.
"Was it Mr Punch that did it?"
A very entertaining and enjoyable book. Comedy, detection and Peculiarity. Bryant and May are brought to life by the reading.
"great listen"
this author has always a good plot with larger than life characters.I always enjoy this book.A fab listen
"Noisy!"
I love this series of books and have read every one now, but I'm just about sick of the same-old-same-old jeapordy of the bloody unit closing down in each book and then getting a last-minute reprieve - boring! I also find the author spends too long re-introducing all the characters and referencing previous novels. But mostly, I've really had enough now of the narrator's loud swallowing! I have a complete phobia about body noises and have to turn the volume down as low as I can to avoid the attendant swallowing and mouth-smacking noises of the reader! Other than that, I love 'em!
"Worth persevering with"
Ok. So it takes a long time for this to get going but if you stick with it its good by the end. I think that as a book its a bit too slow but the reading of it is good.
"Wonderful!"
A great detective story featuring 2 of my favourite characters. Excellently narrated. The usual twists and turns that keep you gripped to the very end.
"fowler does it again"
What can i say every bryant and may adventure surprises me more than the last one and this book kept me awake most of the first night, much to my wifes annoyance who also coud'nt sleep as i kept bursting out laughing, please keep up the good work Christopher.

"Detectives with a different edge"
Once again this is a credit more thna well used this month. Briliant narration by Tim Goodman who narrates all the Bryant and May stories.
Loved the fact thats this two sleuths are 2 wily octogenarians who deal keep us guessing until the very end. Great entertainment. I'm now a full convert on Bryant and May stories.
