Publisher's Summary

Fifteen-year-old Cassie Booth is missing after her paper round. Then her bloodstained jacket is found in a boathouse belonging to Karl Wilding, but there is little evidence against him. A routine visit by Detective Inspector Pat North to appease persistent complainer Stephen Warrington spirals into something far more sinister. As his behaviour becomes increasingly obsessive, North is caught in a frightening web of deceit and lies that fuel her suspicion that Warrington has been involved in a far more horrific crime.

What the Critics Say

"The tension is rendered superbly by Christian Rodska. He is especially skillful at portraying fully developed characters who seem utterly convincing. This is solid entertainment." (AudioFile)

    "Another gripping audiobook"

I am a big fan of this whole series, and have enjoyed the television series too. I found again this to be gripping, well narrated and I could listen to this audiobook again and again in time. The characters become developed through the series but you don't have to listen in order which means you don't miss out if you don't start from the first book. If you like Frost/Morse/modern detective you can't get any better than this.
