John Telfer reads this exclusive audio adventure, set after the conclusion of Miracle Day, featuring Captain Jack Harkness. Jack Harness is in need of a holiday. He wants to get away from Torchwood, away from the human race - and where better to get completely away from it all than Cotter Paluni's World, a planet surrounded by deadly scarlet lightning and cut off from the entire universe?
But there are some shocks in store for Jack: The "Devil's World" might be completely isolated and inaccessible, but its inhabitants worship Torchwood. And before he can find out why, or how this is even possible, he finds himself arrested for murder. It looks as if someone on the planet knows who Jack is - and they're out to get him.... "Torchwood: Red Skies - Review"
This is recording was ridiculous. While the narrator, John Telfer, does an excellent job of characterisation, and believable Jack Harkness accent; this is the only redeeming feature.
The picture of Gwen on the cover is misleading - there are barely two references to her in the audio. The story is pitched as set after Miracle Day, but this is irrelevant to the story, it could have been set at any time when Jack was off on his own. The narrative seems to have been written with a strange religious fixation, that adds nothing by way of literary device, and is so over stressed it becomes boring.
If you're a fan of Torchwood there are many other audio's available that are entertaining and well written.
"cool!"
I loved this. The story in intresting and Jack is always present. The action is great and you never get bored. Militant for gay rights, as Torchwood always was.
