Publisher's Summary

Estate Agents, mail-order lingerie, and the invention of central heating: this is medieval England seen from a 21st-century comedy perspective. With an all-star cast, Pozzitive bring you a roisteringly funny new sitcom from the pen of Kim Fuller, who's CV is as long as a really long arm, and includes Spitting Image, Red Dwarf, Badly Dubbed Porn, Rory Bremner, Lenny Henry, and Spiceworld: The Movie, originally broadcast on Radio 4.

Thrill! as brave knight Sir William De Warrenne comes back from the Crusades and tries to buy a castle with a combined dungeon/gym.

Swoon! as young Lady Anne watches handyman Sam Tree grease a rusty hinge.

Sympathize! as lord of the castle Sir John hires the latest top-of-the-range horse, but can't work out what to do with the built-in ashtrays.

And Get Out Your Dictionary! as the medieval equivalent of Gordon Ramsey tries to prepare a banquet with a mandolin and some very old swear words....

    "Brilliant comedy!"

This is brilliant but I would expect no less from Kim Fuller - I am a huge fan of much of his other work.

All the characters are hilarious and the situations that arise when they are together make for riveting listening. My husband was not really a fan of audio books until he heard this!

If you like double entendre and a dig at current affairs (which I think will stand the test of time) then this is for you. Even the incidental music between scenes is comedic either because of the title of the original piece or the way it has been adapted - they should release some as ring tones!

    "So-so"

I like the actors, it is well acted, well scripted with nice allusions to modern-day things, etc., but somehow it just isn't all that funny. Sorry.

    "Extraordinary!"

I really love any minute of this series. The characters are well built and the authors have created a "contemporary" medieval period in which their characters act and make you laugh. To be listened to if you like the Middle Ages...

    "Simple Anachronistic Humour"

This series' humour relies exclusively on anachronisms; teenagers from the middle ages behaving as teensgaers from the 21st century, and a sidekick who keeps inventing modern appliances (such as the microwave) but giving them the most improbable names. These are funny the first time they occur, but by the second episode one grow weary of this show's utter predictability.
