Could the sudden death of Sir Charles Baskerville have been caused by the gigantic ghostly hound which is said to have haunted his family for generations? Arch-rationalist Sherlock Holmes characteristically dismisses the theory as nonsense. Claiming to be immersed in another case, he sends Watson to Devon to protect the Baskerville heir and to observe the suspects at close hand.

"elememtary my dear watson!"
I have to declare upfront that I love Sherlock Holmes and the film of the hound is one of my favourites- basil rathbone version. I really enjoyed the book, Derek jacobi brings to life the adventure on the moor. His ability to keep you enthralled, with the tone and intonation of his voice, is brilliant. I will definetly be downloading more in the series. Highly recommended for Holmes fans and everyone else who likes an old fashioned good adventure story.
"Classic Book and brilliant Narrator"
I have listened and enjoyed a few of Sherlock Holmes now and allthough you have a vague memory of the various stories Derek Jacobi transforms them he is brilliant! I readly look for his narration before buying the book.
"Very entertaining"
Excellent audiobook and excellent narration by Jacobi. I read the book many years ago and enjoyed it very much. However, listening the audiobook and the life and personality of the characters was like reading the book fir the first time.
"JACOBI THE BEST"
Derek Jacobi is a wonderful reader and as everyone knows the story is excellent. Have heard a lot of different narrations of this story but in my opinion Jacobi is the best. You won't be let down.
