A wonderful collection of hilarious cricket stories and anecdotes from the one and only 'Tuffers'. Phil Tufnell, aka 'Tuffers', is the much-loved English cricketer who has now become one of the country's favourite broadcasters. Not cast from the same mould as other players of his generation, Tufnell has become a cult figure for his unorthodox approach to the game ... and to life in general.
Tuffers' Cricket Tales is a deliciously eccentric collection of the great man's favourite cricket stories that will amuse and inform in equal measure. Tufnell's unmistakeably distinctive voice, as heard to such good effect on Test Match Special, steers fans through dozens and dozens of terrifically entertaining and insightful anecdotes, garnered from his 25-year playing and broadcasting career. Tuffers' Cricket Tales introduces a cast of genuinely colourful characters found in dressing-rooms and commentary boxes from around the world, and in the process, offers a uniquely warm and quirky homage to the sport.

"Perfect for any TMS Fan!"
I was constantly surprised at the candour and humour of this audiobook. I enjoyed it from beginning to end.
Thanks Phil, long may you continue!!!
"Tuffers at his very best"
One of the best cricketing autobiographies I've listen too, this is definately tuffers at his very honest and best. But be warned there is blue side to this audiobook which is full of beeps and you do not have to be educated to realise what was beeped. Being a player in local leagues I fully understand the use of this colourful language. This book goes from his early days right the way through to Jan 2012, including his cricketing career, in the jungle, dancing, question of sport and of course Test Match Special. Told as only Tuffers can with plenty of humour, honesty and a few choice words.
Awesome Phil
"A total delight"
How funny is Phil Tufnell? Now I knew he was a character and funny bloke'ish type of individual and this does not disappoint you. Told with honesty and clarity he takes you through his early years, right the way to where he is now with great humour and fun, it bounces along, telling you just how it was, no punches held back....straight from the heart. You cannot help but like this cheeky chappie...a total delight.
"Spoilt by Tuffers narrating his own book"
The man himself, Phil Tufnell narrates this book. Originally that was part of the appeal as to why I chose it, thinking he would be wit and charm, but it hasn't worked out that way. In fact, I found it hard to listen to.
Also, he intentionally bleeps outs words he thinks the listener will be offended by - which ends up sounding a bit daft. Never come across an audio book which bleeps out words. Maybe its done for comic effect, but its just annoying.
"Tuffers, as expected"
Excellent listen. All the better for being read by the author, who, it turns out, is just the sort of bloke you always thought he was. VERY funny in parts and warmingly honest. No frills, Tuffers tells it as it is and I like him all the more for it.
The cricket tour tales were my favourite parts. And I really feel for the author with regard to the reviews system - his stats would have been phenominal!
On the basis on this book, I would love to meet the guy. What more do you want from an autobiography?
