Publisher's Summary

Nominated for the Audiobook Download of the Year, 2008.

According to The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch - the world's only totally reliable guide to the future - the world will end on a Saturday.

Next Saturday, in fact. Just after tea...The armies of Good and Evil are amassing, the Four Bikers of the apocalypse are revving up, and everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan. Except that a somewhat fussy angel and a fast-living demon are not particularly looking forward to the coming rapture - having thoroughly enjoyed life on earth amongst the mortals.

If Crowley and Aziraphale are going to stop it from happening, they've got to find and kill the Antichrist. There's just one glitch: someone seems to have misplaced him...

"Fave book with a decent Audiobook reading"

I've read this book every year since its release, so looked forward to hearing it in Audiobook format. For the most part it's great, however there were a few points where it seemed the reader didn't get the tone of dialogue (as it's always been 'heard' in my head) right. Just my personal interpretation though of course :)

Well worth getting if you enjoy Gaiman or Pratchett.

Fantastic... one of my favourite books of all time and the one that introduced me to the genius that is Neil Gaiman. At times as laugh out loud funny as the best Pratchett and at others as dark as Gaiman gets. No doubt I will listen to this almost as many times as I've read it!

    "Laugh out Loud"

I chose this book purely because I really enjoy Stephen Briggs' narration. I was not disappointed. The story was great fun. The story (which I don't want to spoil) briefly revolves around the swapping of a baby at the maternity hospital with the son of the Devil. This is messed up by the demon and the consequences of that are hysterical. There are quite a few characters in this book - all relevant to the plot and at times brief glimpses of other characters not so relevant but they tie in. I listened to it in the car on the way to work and must have got some strange looks as I laughed out loud at times! Stephen Briggs is brilliant as usual. I love the way he portrays the characters. His voice of DEATH is spot on. If you like Terry Pratchett you will not be disappointed. It is great.

    "Almost makes you believe"

Having read most of Pratchitts Disc World novels I thought I would give this a go.
Brilliant, good pace, plenty of that Pratchitt Eye view of our world and funny, even on occasion, laugh out loud funny.

    "Pratchett does Apocolypse . . ."

This is a Terry Pratchett spin on the Apocolypse... in other words: hilarious !!!
Warning: Whilst not offending, this is probably not for the relegious devout without a sense of humour ;-)

Terry writes a great book. I love to read Pratchett to give me a break between more serious noves and he never fails to disappoint. As ususal this book is filled with Pratchett humour and as the worlds heads towards disaster it appears the devil has got his way. As usual well crafted with a sting in the tale

    "Laugh out loud funny"

Since reading it, I've bought this book as a gift for every book lover I know. Gaiman & Pratchett are excellent individually, but together, this is a work of genius. Hilarious to the point of laugh-out-loud funny - I wouldn't advise listening to it on a crowded train! Would recommend it, without hesistation, to anyone with a sense of humour.

Loved this right from the start. It's the first Terry Pratchett book I've listened to - I hope others are as good.

    "."

Great story, read it regularly (so much my copy is very battered now!) so to get it on Audible has been great.

One point was that the narrator didn't seem to be able to incorporate the story footnotes into the narration easily (just because the note was after that particular word in print doesn't mean it has to fit there when you actually read it out). Also, the introduction to the characters seemed to just be read as another page of the story, rather than an introduction.

But these are really minor points. Otherwise, it's a great story, and a really good listen.

    "Still good"

Having read this about 10 years ago I fancied listening to it. I've heard Stephen Briggs narrate before doing other Pratchett stuff and he is as good here as in them.

The story is a good intro into both Gaiman's and Pratchett's work (especially as there is so much Pratchett it can be quite daunting). It's a good idea and plot and an enjoyable journey through it.

I had to paint the entire set of fences in our garden over a weekend and this made the hours fly by!
