Witches are real - and each of us may be one -in this all-new paranormal suspense novel from number-one New York Times best-selling author Christopher Pike.
Heading off for a weekend in Las Vegas with her friends, Jessie Ralle has only one worry: how to make it through the road trip in the same car as her ex, Jimmy Kelter. The guy she hasn't come close to getting over since he broke up with her five months ago. The guy who's finally ready to tell her why he did it, because now he wants her back.
Only, sometimes knowing why doesn't actually make things better. Sometimes it leads to bigger, more terrifying questions.
Jessie discovers that she's stumbled into a world where some people can do the impossible and others may not even be human. Are there really witches? Is she one of them? Armed with new abilities and shocked to discover an entire parallel world in which she and her loved ones co-exist, Jessie's desperate to learn whom she can trust and whom she can't - before it's too late.

"Love Christopher Pikes new book!"
I have enjoyed Christopher Pikes Thirst series and he is a wonderful writer who writes women quite well. And I have to give him props for writing a complete book. He doesn't give you a novella and call it a book. He WRITES a full story in each book. You receive hours of enjoyment from each book without having to buy fourteen quickies, ya know? Witch World held my interest. He was able to go back and forth between the real world and Witch World seamlessly and did so between the characters who existed in both worlds simultaneously. Not and easy job, that.
I wish audible would put the entire Thirst series in their catalog. Even though I've read them, I'd read them again. I started audible books when I was on the road for my job going up and down the Texas coast. I found that when I listen to music, I would get sleepy because of the steady beat. Audiobooks keep my interest and I don't get sleepy. I certainly hope you put any sequels to Witch World in your line up.
Pike tells a huge story that is complex and tells it in an uncomplicated manner. I was so excited to see this new book out and characters I could follow and unfold, finding more than a one dimensional character. From Russ to Whip to Jessie, Pike delivered. All I want is more more more... I understand that a finale for Thirst will be out soon and I will buy it and read it more than once. I so look forward to more of Witch World.
The narration was by Justine Eyre who was nothing less than amazing. You guys did it again. Congratulations!
I am a big Pike fan, but I really did not enjoy this book. The whole story just seemed to drag on and branch out into other stories ultimately to no end.
Maybe someone with more appreciation for Sci-Fi would enjoy this better than I did.
I think I will stick to Gillian Flynn, can't get enough of her books at the moment!
I didn't like Justine's way of speaking at all. That was the first thing that put me off about this audiobook. Justine did not speak clearly and has a habit of allowing her words to drift into a mumble towards the end of a sentence. She also seemed to speak in a whiny pitch when speaking in Jessica's voice which made me come to not like the character! When she spoke for a male character, she made me cringe and reminded me of kids in high school making crank calls and putting on a "man's voice".
None for me. I couldn't even finish the audiobook.
"I usually love this author."
The narrator made it very difficult for me to enjoy anything about this book. Maybe I should stick to paperback .
"loveed the book. and the narrater was fantastic."
if there is another sequal I want to read it. Christopher pike is good. worth to listen
i do not like the reader. book was OK but kind of cheesy and confusing.
"Prior reviews failed me on this one"
I liked the way the book started off and the Vegas casino stuff but really when the heroine ends up in the desert and then in a frozen state from being in a meat locker, I thought it was time to consider something else.
This one just was not for me.
"Love me some Christopher Pike!"
The story was very imaginative.
Understanding how the real world and witch world interact.
She kind of got on my nerves a bit acutually. Especially her voice for the main characters best friend, Alex.
I want more Christopher Pike audiobooks on here. This book definitely finishes with a lot of loose ends. I definitely hope he was foreshadowing a 2nd book.
"Long time Pike fan, 1st audiobook experience"
Christopher Pike wrote it! He is such a thorough storyteller! I have read every.single.one. of his early releases as a young adult over ten years ago. I was so excited when I came upon this fairly new release. I see he has written some other books pertaining to vampires but Witch World is much more up my alley. I loved the plot and setting. The characters were very well developed. There were a lot of edge of your seat moments. Just when you think there is some finality to a scene or situation something happens that throws you for a loop. Not predictable at all. It was a nice escape.
Even though Jessie is the heroine in this story she annoyed me sometimes. I liked "Jessica" because she was fierce and less naive. Favorite is hard to say though..Russell coming into the story was what really made me get into it.
I liked her European accents. She did a great job with Russell and Candor's (sp?) parts.
No laughter or tears.
Part of me wished I had bought the physical book to read myself when I first started listening. New to the audiobook experience, I wasn't sure if I made a good decision. It took me a couple of chapters to get used to the narrators voice. She performed it well but something about the way she talked annoyed me in the beginning. As I got deeper into the story the annoyance left and I was able to enjoy the story. I'm now plotting on my next download.
I had never read any of Christopher Pike's books prior to this book. I am looking forward to reading/listening to more of his work. Witch World was not the typical witch book. The story is surprising. I am looking forward to the next in the series.
