Before Peter Pan belonged to Wendy, he belonged to the girl with the crow feather in her hair....
Fifteen-year-old Tiger Lily doesn't believe in love stories or happy endings. Then she meets the alluring teenage Peter Pan in the forbidden woods of Neverland and immediately falls under his spell.
Peter is unlike anyone she's ever known. Impetuous and brave, he both scares and enthralls her. As the leader of the Lost Boys, the most fearsome of Neverland's inhabitants, Peter is an unthinkable match for Tiger Lily. Soon, she is risking everything - her family, her future - to be with him. When she is faced with marriage to a terrible man in her own tribe, she must choose between the life she's always known and running away to an uncertain future with Peter.
With enemies threatening to tear them apart, the lovers seem doomed. But it's the arrival of Wendy Darling, an English girl who's everything Tiger Lily is not, that leads Tiger Lily to discover that the most dangerous enemies can live inside even the most loyal and loving heart.
From the New York Times best-selling author of Peaches comes a magical and bewitching story of the romance between a fearless heroine and the boy who wouldn't grow up.

"Delightful New Angle on Peter Pan"
I loved her spirit and strength, struggle with conscience
For me a narrator gets 4 stars if they have a good range and ability to change their voice differentiating characters, and is actually performing, not simply reading. 5 Stars means the narrator is an integral part of the story and I would never want them separated from the book. A 3 means I got through the book but struggled in hearing character changes.
But this book kind of falls out of the above criteria because its read in the voice of Tinkerbell, and I'm not clear as to how much differentiation the author desired. As Tinkerbell the voice is definitely girly and squeaky at times, she does a very good job at portraying the emotion of each scene (which helps the listener stay engaged), and I think for the target audience it would be a solid 5.
There are 2: when her father is defrocked the devastating consequences, and when Tiger Lily changes her mind about killing Wendy and Peter..and the fall out with the mermaids as a result
This is such a great read and original take on a timeless book. It made me appreciate the original story of Peter Pan; and concepts such as non-aging, the psychopathic pirate tendency, communication with fairies is all explored in a way that enriches the tale. Defiantly worth a credit and my time..no fast forwarding or skipping scenes.
I'm not a big romance reader, but this love was a very intriguing and unforgettable. It kept me interested the whole time, making sure I would find meaning in its words. Overall it was beautifully narrated, well written, and worth the read.
"A beautiful take on a classic!"
Tiger Lily! She is such a lovely, complicated character that you can't help but loving.
The letter from Pan at the end. It made me cry.
I have not. She was very good!
Yes! I hated having to turn it off.
Just a really lovely book that anyone who has fallen in love at a young age can relate to.
"How to love"
This is a fabulous book about societies, how we fit or don't fit in and love. I was pleasantly surprised by this book. Tiger Lily has a new place in my heart. A well deserved 5 stars to this book.
"Love all of it!"
I loved every piece of this story. Beginning to end. Despite everything I truly truly love how things worked out but there was a lot of pain.
Oddly enough some part of me resonated strongly with the boy who all but worshipped the ground she walked on.
The love story was very romantic and in a lot of the best ways it was subtle.
I think Tink was a great POV to hear the story from. Especially since I never heard the not disney version of Peter Pan. I found this version to be a lot more enjoyable! I will definitely be putting forth an effort to learn/ find out more of this store. I am so thrilled that Wendy was not a big part of the store and to hear how strong Tiger Lily is. Only thing that still kinda hurts my heart is that Tiger Lily's relationship with moon eyes could have been a lot better I feel.
Anyway, all in all a credit here is worth it.
"I love this book."
It made me feel for the characters.
time well spent.
very emotional tale.
definitely a book to tune into.
"So sweet and bitter"
This book was recommended to me and I was glad I gave it a shot. It is a little story of love and life wrapped in a magical world. The characters are multidimensional and full of magic. It made me smile and sad at the end but then again, so does life.
This is a great book that will always have your attention. The book is not cliche like every other book. This book will bring any emotions you've ever had back. It gets you in your "feels".
Overall, it was a somwhat interesting read. I was mostly engaged and interested in how it was going to end. That said, once I got to the end, I was kind of like, :hmmm". I don't think that it wasn't a good book, just not really my cup of tea.
I did, to a point, like both Peter and Tiger Lily. I think they were both interesting characters.
"Very very depressing...."
I kept waiting for peculiar upturn, by this was a long depressing story. These characters are not even likable
