Summary

Deep in the Chalk, something is stirring. The owls and the foxes can sense it, and Tiffany Aching feels it in her boots.

An old enemy is gathering strength. This is a time of endings and beginnings, old friends and new, a blurring of edges and a shifting of power.

Now Tiffany stands between the light and the dark, the good and the bad. As the fairy horde prepares for invasion, Tiffany must summon all the witches to stand with her. To protect the land. Her land. There will be a reckoning.

A brilliant end

A brilliant end to the Tiffany Aching series, a brilliant final book and a brilliant narrator as well.

brilliant, poignant & funny

Maybe not as polished as other stories (understandably in the circumstances) but a brilliant addition to the discworld legacy.

Beautifully done

The combination of Terry's writing and excellent narration along with the knowledge that he knew he was dying when he wrote this and quite how difficult writing a book would be while riddled with dementia, makes this a poignant listen.
I loved it.

Another excellent story brought to life by Tony.

Tony Robinson brings these great Terry Pratchett novels to life. An excellent narrator teamed with the best wordsmith of our life time.

Pratchett’s finest!

Witty, poignant, and heart warming! Terry Pratchett has combined all of his skills in his last completed work. Loved every word!

Great read and a found and sad farewell,

Great books are crafted by great minds and we have lost a great one. The book was again a great triumph over adversity

A fitting end

Would you consider the audio edition of The Shepherd's Crown (Abridged) to be better than the print version?

The written text is better as has more detail but I wanted to hear Tony Robinson tell the final tale.

What did you like best about this story?

There is much bittersweet sentiment and I admit to a little cry every now and again thats never happened with a discworld book before!

What does Tony Robinson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Tony's voice has been the voice of many a Pratchett book to me, no more so than the Nac mac feegals!

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

A few teary moments but a flood at the end!
