For sixteen year old Mattie Hathaway, this is her normal everyday routine. She's been able to see ghosts since her mother tried to murder her when she was five years old. No way does she want anyone to know she can talk to spooks. Being a foster kid is hard enough without being labeled a freak too.
Normally, she just ignores the ghosts and they go away. That is until she see's the ghost of her foster sister... Sally.
Everyone thinks Sally's just another runaway, but Mattie knows the truth-she's dead. Murdered. Mattie feels like she has to help Sally, but she can't do it alone. Against her better judgment, she teams up with a young policeman, Officer Dan, and together they set out to discover the real truth behind Sally's disappearance.
Only to find out she's dealing with a much bigger problem, a serial killer, and she may be the next victim…
Will Mattie be able to find out the truth before the killer finds her?

"Loved every bit!!!!"
Great book! An on the edge of your seat suspense. Can't wait to hear/read more from this author.
"Enjoyed the story"
It maybe geared to a younger crowd but I enjoyed the plot and the lack of sex. The narrator is fantastic. Just listened to a book whose narrative spoke so fast and emotionless making the story hard to enjoy. I recommend this book to anyone that enjoys a good ghost story.
It was told in first person and Maddie is a great character. Strong characters throughout but she is fun.
Maddie with her sarcasm and wit
The scene with Maddie and Dan and his family and then Maddie again in the diner
Not an extreme reaction just an enjoyable reaction
"WHO EDITED THIS BOOK"
There were a lot of repeats in the recording. But I really like the story, will probably get the next issue.
"Defective recording! Frequent repeats."
Very difficult and frustrating to listen to because so many sections repeat. This audio book needs to be recalled, fixed.and reissued. Sorry I wasted a credit. Very disappointed because without the technical issues it would be a good story.
Definitely, it was suspenseful and creepy and Roxanne Bell did an perfect job narrating..
I might compare it to the TV show Ghost Whisperer. The commonality being both characters see and talk to ghosts. Ghost Whisperer was also my favorite TV show for the 5 years it ran.
She's the voice of Mattie, the teen girl who who see's ghosts. Her voice is clear and articulate and she sounds like a teen.
Yes. It took a couple sittings because of the length but I was into it since the start.
I love ghost stories, really anything suspenseful and creepy. This book fit. Mattie see's ghosts but she doesn't want to. She does her best to ignore them until she's put into a situation where she needs them.
Mattie's mother tried to kill her when she was a baby then she died. So Mattie has been passed through the foster care system from one horrible home to another. She finally is placed with a couple who care. She gets meals daily, Mrs. O is there for her when she has problems. Everything is good, until a ghost shows up that changes everything.
The suspense level in the book is off the charts and it's descriptive yet on level for young adults. Excellent Book!
Really enjoyed the narrator- young female! Thrilling and quick story about a girl who sees ghosts and try's to figure out why they are coming to her... And tries to find out who killed them!
this was a great read and storie all the way through love love love it
"Very Slow Going"
Excellent narration. However, the story is dragged down with too much dialogue and confusing paranormal activity.
No. Baker needs to pick up the pace by cutting back on dialogue and unnecessary scenes that don't move the story forward.
No, but she is an excellent YA narrator.
This was a great story that's a great characters plenty of twists and turns and look back's you'll think you know who it is when you want when you will then you won't then you will but I love the story can't wait to see book to
