A monk named Brother Luke rescues Robin and takes him to the hospice of St. Mark's, where he is taught woodcarving and - much harder - patience and strength. Says Brother Luke, "Thou has only to follow the wall far enough and there will be a door in it."
Robin soon enough learns what Brother Luke means. And when the great castle of Lindsay is in danger, it is Robin, who cannot mount a horse and ride to battle, who saves the townspeople and discovers there is more than one way to serve his king.

"Character and history"
The story encourages the building of character and is an excellent historical introduction to life in feudal England. It is complex enough for parents to listen along with children, Yet fast paced enough to hold the attention of young children.
"Such a great story"
This was a great story!!! I cannot stop listening to it. This is at least my tenth time. Audible picked a great reading for this story and I love the added music. Audible truly did a great job telling this story. I love listening to it because I was always engaged with the person speaking as much as the story. This is a very thought provoking story and they definitely chose a fantastic story teller. Thank you audible for choosing this reader and continuing to make me smile. I always will recommend this app.
"Better than reading"
The period music brings the story to life. Well done!
enjoyed it very much today
It is a good lesson and a good story, I wish there was more volume in it.
A fresh, whimsical listen. The songs were perfect, the story was cute and original. The only lack was for a better recording quality.
"Beautiful and Brilliant!!"
Whole family enjoyed this! Narration and story are wonderful!! True talent here. My children wanted to hear this story over and again!
"Well written and interesting"
Enjoyed it immensely. Captivating story of a boy overcoming tremendously difficult odds. Great narration and sound effects.
"A Hidden Hero"
While I did not initially anticipate enjoying The Door In the Wall, sharing the audio version with my daughter proved to be a pleasure.
The cadence, speed and variety of vocalizations added to the experience.
Would time have allowed, this book would have been listened to in one setting as the storyline allows the reader (listener, in this case) to move along with the story.
I am pleased with having purchased and listened to this story by Marguerite De Angeli.
"A pretty mediocre book, really"
This was a pretty mediocre book. I did enjoy it-a little bit. Probably would have been somewhat better if there was more action, oh, and if, well, that would be a spoiler wouldn't it? Mediocre book, good narration.
Loved hearing the sounds of the bells and music while listening to the story!! So enjoyable!
