Jean-Claude Drouot donne vie à chaque personnage, offrant une écoute des plus agréables. Une adolescente orpheline nommée Lyra et son animal familier, Pan, se retrouvent au milieu d'une conspiration politique. N'ayant personne en qui avoir confiance, Lyra doit choisir entre le bien et le mal, mettant ses amis et sa famille en danger à chaque décision qu'elle prend. Les Royaumes du Nord est un thriller à couper le souffle, renforçant le fait que les choses ne sont pas toujours ce qu'elles semblent être. Un fantasme unique sans réelle magie (mais avec beaucoup de surnaturel), ce roman met en avant les idéaux de la religion, de la morale et de la politique et les examine d'une manière que les jeunes auditeurs peuvent comprendre et apprécier.

Perfection
The story and the telling of it is exceptional. The story seems so well crafted and original, and its narrator doesn't let it down; rather seems to enhance it wonderfully. He must have loved telling it! Also, the incidental music is just the right match, and nicely timed. I don't know the story in English, but I'm confident that the translation is faithful to the original. One of my first Audible purchases, and, I think, a hard one to match.

The book that sold audible to me
Would you consider the audio edition of Les royaumes du Nord (À la croisée des mondes 1) to be better than the print version?

Harry Potter trilogies- as gripping and believable but deeper and darker and addresses some uncomfortable questions about religion. I love listening to it in French.
