In this riveting debut, a telepathic girl must figure out why she is the key to her brand-new world - before the wrong person finds the answer first.
Twelve-year-old Sophie has never quite fit into her life. She's skipped multiple grades and doesn't really connect with the older kids at school, but she's not comfortable with her family, either. And Sophie has a secret - she's a Telepath, someone who can read minds. But the day Sophie meets Fitz, a mysterious (and adorable) boy, she learns she's not alone. He's a Telepath too, and it turns out the reason she has never felt at home is that, well...she isn't. Fitz opens Sophie's eyes to a shocking truth, and almost instantly she is forced to leave behind her family for a new life in a place that is vastly different from what she has ever known.
But Sophie still has secrets, and they're buried deep in her memory for good reason: The answers are dangerous and in high-demand. What is her true identity, and why was she hidden among humans? The truth could mean life or death - and time is running out.

"Reader was horrible"
The reader of this book had the most annoying teenager-ish voice ever. It was distracting to the story.
The book started and right away I jude it. At first I hated the book but still I listened. The book is very boring at first but you have to wait till Sophie first meets Fitz. The book is really great as soon as I the finished I started to listen to the second book called Exile. The narrating was fabulous and I wish the second book was narrated by the first narrator. The story is a mix of mystery, romance, and adventure. SPOILER: though Sophie never falls in love with anyone Dex is in love with her and Sophie did have a crush on Fitz. I love books like these and I think if you like those kind of books you should read Keeper of the Lost Cities.
I LOVE this story, but to me Fitz sounded like a girl. Witch I didn't like, but over all this is the BEST story I have ever heard.
"The story is superb but the narrator could use some work"
I love this book to pieces. Great character depth and marvellous story telling. A riveting world of light and elves.
The narrator was pretty nasally and tried too hard to sound like a teenager at times, and her swallowing irked me a bit.
Overall, I give this audio book 3 starts for its performance. The story itself a 5 star rating!
the story is great. the performance if sub-par. Pronunciation of "important" was plain nerve wrecking.
"Good story, narrator distracting"
The story is creative and captivating for kids and adults alike. However, the narrator's performance is distracting. I hope they continue the series, however, with a different narrator.
"Great story, shame about the production."
The storyline is fantastic - fast-paced, but in a wonderful setting, and the heroine is smart and brave, but also very good. The only drawback is the production - the narrator is very average, and the producer has not edited out her pauses nor swallowing.

"Loved this story"
The story of a "Genius" girl who finds out exactly why she feels like she doesn't belong. Narrator did a wonderful job with the story and I feel like I was there for the telling. Glad it's book one and not just a stand alone story.
