The steep descent into Hell is always paved with good intentions.
My name is Jemma Blackburn, and I'm a Slayer. Finding out I wasn't human was only the beginning of my problems. My best friend, Taylor, is still missing, and so is the Immortal Amulet, and it's my job alone to get them both back. I don't know who I can trust, and I'm still not sure I'm cut out for any of this, but I'm determined to figure it all out, or die trying. As if that wasn't bad enough, there's a new enemy in town and they've come bearing gifts - an ancient prophecy that is going to blur the very lines between good and evil. And, apparently, my blood is tied to the center of it. I don't have all the answers yet, but I'm getting closer and closer to discovering the truth. The truth about my bloodlines, and about who I really am. And, believe me when I say, it's going to change everything.
Invidious is the highly anticipated second installment in The Marked series, a fast-paced paranormal romance filled with self-discovery, mystery, love, and a unique supernatural world that will leave you captivated and hungry for more.

"What happened to the ending so upset!!!!"
This left me with no ending just a huge cliffhanger I hope their is a great audible book following because it seems to be a great book series except there are huge gaps of content and areas unfinished if their isn't a audible book up incoming then it's horrible if their is then it's a great book once you can have the entire story this was so unfair
"Just as good as the first."
I really enjoyed this, though a bit less of the inner dialog would be nice.
"Love this series"
Can't wait till the next book. I listened to both books in 3 days. Now I have to find another book.
"Performance was great, story only ok."
If you like mostly teenage first love, first times and heavy panting then this is the book for you. The plot is almost non existent. There is 80 percent descriptions of lust and only maybe 20 of actual story. The biggest problem I have with this story is it wasn't finished. It was intentionally left as a climactic cliffhanger to guarantee you have to buy the next book to maybe get to a conclusion.
"Good but not great"
I accidentally stumbled on this series - it isn't my usual genre but it sounded like a good read...
Book one was great. Book two had a lot more of the teen drama and long flirtatious scenes that could easily have been eliminated. Take those out and you would have a very good book.
The last quarter of the book is the best part. Unfortunately it ends on a cliffhanger so I will have to read book 3 when it comes out.
can't wait for the next one!!! loved this one almost as much as the last!
Good book but horrible narrator. Her voice is beyond annoying. She make Jemma sound really stupid.
"great book but need the third book"
this book is great but the ending sucks for not having the third book... I need the third book!
I can't imagine being Jemma! I remember being a teenager! I can not even imagine having to deal with all that she's dealing with. It already feels like Supernaturals are coming at you normally as a teenager and then when you become suddenly become one and hell is against you .....or for you..... crazy!
She definitely was a huge improvement over the first books narration.
The endings of both books made me feel as if I had been cheated the full book. You expect an ending of some kind a wrap up in some way, but both books literally end in the middle of the story. It's like buying a book but only getting half. You get the background and work up to the main plot and then..... nothing , you have to buy the next book so I did and this one did the exact same thing. I guess it gets you to purchase the next but it also makes me angry. The story line was a great one I very much enjoyed the storyline!!! But, I agree with others in that there is way to much internal self loathing dialogue going on. It makes you want to smack the girl. It's way too wordy and over dramatic. I am sure I will buy the next in the series if I remember to look for it when it's eventually written and published but I don't think I will buy any of her books after this series just because I feel like I was cheated just to ensure more sales. I don't like being forced to keep buying books to get the ending I should have got with the first and the second.
I would "strongly" advise anyone who really wants to read this series to wait till she is done with the series or your going to finish the book quite angry and unfulfilled.
