Nothing can stop Raine Cooper when she wants something....
Raine finally knows that her gorgeous neighbor, Torin St. James, is a legend straight out of Norse mythology and that her feelings for him are strong. Torin is crazy about Raine, too, breaking the one rule he lives by: Never fall for a mortal. The problem is, he no longer remembers her, his memories erased by Norns - Norse destiny deities - to punish her for defying them. So Raine comes up with a plan.... She will make Torin forget his one rule a second time and fall in love with her all over again. But she quickly learns that well-laid plans do not work when dealing with deities and supernatural beings. Desperate, Raine makes choices that could not only tear her and Torin further apart, but lead to the destruction of everything and everyone she loves.

Ive read this series before and im now enjoying it on audible 😀 ednah is a great writer and the narrator really bring the characters to life. Easy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ rating!
I enjoyed the whole Norse mythology in the book, and having them the bad guys, yeah, that was pretty cool.
Norse Mythology + Hotty Immortal, kick arse female lead. Great storyline. The storyline is filled with twists and turns, romance and laughs and I loved the characters a little more with each page turn.
The gods vs Raine. Love going against massive obstacles. Stephanie brings all of this to life. A lovely voice to listen too and one that matches this book brilliantly. She paces the story well and her characterisation is brilliant.
Amazing action sequences, norse mythology written extremely well and the best kind of romance and friendships. It's good.

Yes, it is a great story within a fantastic series, I do not know anyone who would not enjoy it, young or old.
I love that Raine is growing into who and what she is whilst battling the Norn's and trying to find a way to to help Torin regain his memory of how they feel about each other. And if that is not enough she finds that Eirik is having issues too. I mean, what is not to love.
I think she narrated the book very well, in fact so well I fell asleep the first time I listened. I do feel that I will stick to reading for as long as I am able.
I always laugh and cry with the characters. I was so angry with the Norn's, they are not a nice people.
Audible books, sadly, ae not for me as I like to get into the book and lose myself to the fantasy that therein lies. I find I cannot do that when someone is reading to me but that in no way detracts from the good narration.
I think in the very first 3. I have listened to few audiobooks and I have to admit this one is one of the best one.
I think the whole book is memorable. But I love how Ednah captured Raine's feelings towards Torin. Her passion. Her believe. And also the fact that she never gives up.
I love all of them. But Raine was brilliant and also Torins accent was just yum.
Yup. Cried, laughed, cursed. All sorts of emotional roller coaster. That's why I love it !
Just grab it and listen. It's an amazing story that pulls you in and helps you with dull travel to work😁😁
I would recommend to friends/family.. anyone who loves paranormal! This book is jam packed full of action and plot twists, and makes a brilliant story.
#TeamEirik! I love Eirik, from the first book I knew he had more to tell. I just love the road his story is going to take us.
I thought Stephanie Terry performed Raine brilliant, so much emotion behind her words.
I can't wait to find out what happens next in the Runes series.
I would definitely and already have recommended this audiobook to all my friends along with the rest of the series of course! Really easy to listen to and Stephanie makes it enjoyable.
My favourite character has to be Andris. I just love him. He starts off as a bit of an ass but develops into a caring, warm person who really does care for Raine, can't get enough of him!!
Overall, I enjoyed Stephanie's performance. I enjoyed the way she changed her intonation or her voice for the different characters. My only criticism would be her interpretation of Torin. I don't know if it's because I'm British but I found it "not quite right". Maybe it's just that I had a voice in my head when I read the books and it didn't sound the same. That aside though, it was well read and a thoroughly good listen.
I wouldn't say a particular moment but I enjoyed the relationship with Raine and her father. After what they've both been through, it was great to hear the interaction between them. They both clearly love each other and that comes through in the writing.
I have loved the whole series of books and I am an avid fan of Ednah Walters. She is a talented and inspired author. Where she gets her ideas from, I don't know. I'm so glad I found the series and eagerly await the next books in the series. A must, must purchase.
OMG this book WAS AMAZING!! SO MANY TWISTS & TURNS! AS SOON AS I THOUGHT I KNEW WHAT WAS GOING ON EVERYTHING CHANGED IN A GOOD WAY!! I LOVED IT & I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOOK!! COME ON HURRY UP & DOWNLOAD ALREADY LOL
"Good, but very young"
This book seemed a little slower than the first, but it picked up at the end. In this book, the main character seemed even more immature than in the first book. I think it was partly the narrator's voice, and partly the way the character acted. She's constantly crying and talking about my boyfriend this and my boyfriend that, and he 'claimed me', etc, even before he's really her boyfriend. It's hard to imagine that some guy who's been alive a thousand years or so would be interested in this child. It was also frustrating because she knew that certain things were happening, but didn't tell the people who could help do something about it until the very end. I will probably still try the next book and hope it picks up.
major twisted and new concepts. the supernatural beings are all wrapped up in the age old adage love triangles a woman's scorn and the vie for power
"change the speed to 1.25"
I enjoyed the narrator more after I change the speed to 1.25. hope that helps.
I've enjoyed this series a great deal. I find it refreshing with twists and turns that keep me engaged. The story line feels original due to the weaving of gods and their cast. While firmly a YA, it still has enough to keep even adults interested. I'm looking forward to the others in the series.
Quite frankly I did not finish this book. Came up in my recommended for you selection, and it was a poor choice on my part. Story was predictable and boring, too many books like this out there. Same ole destiny- bologna story line. Apparently there was another book before this one so I was kinda lost, but I will look for the ither one. Narrator was horrible, her english accent was exxagerrated and cheesy. Enough ranting for me now, but I figured I'd save the next person from wasting a credit.
"Clean Teen Read or listen"
Didn't see the ending coming. Good plot. Really could be done w books. Didn't end in a cliffhanger like most do these days. But I'm sure I'll read the next one or listen!
One thing..... Stephanie Terry. Please learn how to say Oregon. I did however enjoy the book.
"Edge of your seat exciting!"
Lots of exciting and mysterious moments. The romantic scenes were brilliant! I love being able to live vicariously through Raine... I highly recommend!
"Entertaining series, horrible narration!"
Just the Narrator!! The book and story itself was entertaining. I do get into the storyline and the characters for the most part. There are a few parts that leave me eyerolling, but not enough to make me stop listening.
I would be mad if I didn't know this book was a part of a series of books that picks right up where this leaves off.
I don't usually complain about narrators but THIS one totally irritates me! I kept hearing a kid/kids in the background! The narrator's voice is age appropriate to the story but she really needs to learn where and where not to pause! She has trouble with the adult characters and the accents. I think she could become a good narrator over time and with more coaching but for now, I think a good director could've helped.
Yes, for the most part.
Good young adult series but some parents may want to know about the underage drinking and sex in the story before allowing their kids to read or listen to it.
