This series of books from the House of night are fantastic!! They are so addictive I listen to them whilst walking the dog I just love them they keep you interested from start to finish absolutely brilliant, I cant wait to download the next book. A definite must for any one who enjoyed the twilight series.
The best book so far for me, this book is literally impossible to put down. The next two books in the series will have a hard time beating this one. The writing style is more mature, and even if I do wish the male characters would tell the heroine where to go or that she'd actually make up her mind once and for all who she loves and stick to it, that didn't detract from the story. Though it was what annoyed me about the earlier books. The narrator was excellent, and I'm sorry to say that the series changes readers (why do publishers do that)? This new narrator is not a reader I like, but I'm hoping that won't spoil the next book.
Loved the book and Jenna Lamia does a wonderful job. I do wish she would have narrated the first ones.
"A let down"
The last book was not the best but I thought she was building it up for Hunted. But Hunted was worst then the last book. It felt like the book was written by a 12 year old girl. She worried more about her 3 boys then the fallen angel or Neferet. The 2 villians were hardly in it. All they had to do was form a circle and poof the bad guys are gone? Come on.... I know it's written for young adults but I've read many young adult books that are excellent. This was just poorly written.
"I won't read any mor eof this series."
I really loved the first book so I gave the second book a bit of a break. Lots of times the second of three is a bit weaker and builds up to the next one but then I read Hunted. I completely agree with another reviewer that said it was poorly written. So much time was spent recapping old events I beame annoyed and then there was so little plot growth. The villans had great potential but ended up just being a distraction to the main character as she sadly focused on her boy trouble. The angst was even more annoying when the big scenes with her "boys" were peppered with even more recaps of past books. The ending was the worst part and I am so disappointed I think I will just abandon the series and not buy any more. So far all of the actual plot of book 2 and 3 could have been the first half of one book. My recommendation is to go looking for a new series and save your money.
The House of Night series is tagged as YA, and so it is (lots of teenage angst) - but I can honestly say I have enjoyed, and I am in my (ahem) mid-30's! :)
The plot is very interesting, and each book leaves you wondering what will happen next! I am looking forward to the next release in the fall!
Sex hungry, vampire wannabe, Zoe Redbird is a powerful and special teenager whose adventures are related in the five books that encompass the series House of Night. In the three months that transpire in the 5 books published so far, she manages to juggle 4 boyfriends, dead and undead friends and very powerful enemies. The books are repetitive, and with a tint of male downgrading, and homosexual loving tendencies. The books are also entertaining and have an interesting and smart approach behind the vampire genesis. The language is that of teenagers and is fresh and entertaining. I do recommend the reading/listening of this captivating book series.
"Love this Series"
I listen to this one over and over and I own the books also.
"Worst In the series"
This was obviously supposed to be a transitional
book but the problem is that it is so hastily
put together that it just ends up being boring
and drawn out. The book goes nowhere fast. Save
your credit this is a waste.
"Book was a bit slow but reader was amazing"
I read lots of reviews on how Jenna did and that she sounded too young or whatever, so first I was very pulled in and happy with Edwina and her reading and acting abilities, hess it took a few chapters to get used to Jenna, but Jenna is one of the best parts on this book, she is amazing when it comes to separating the voices and portraying each characters uniques individual persona. I loved listening to her because I felt the mystery, the parts that were more thrilling and scary, and the parts that were endearing and fun. I am disappointed in how many remarks tore this down simply because Jenna sounds younger but hello! Zoey Redbird is basically a high school aged fledgling and so are her friends so it fits and she does the best job out compared to Caitlin Davies which I can't stand.
"Love the series but this wasnt one of the best"
Story was interesting a bit confusing not big on character building tried to make it about the love triangle but didn't work still enjoyable read
"Love this series"
I started reading this series before I had audible and couldn't put it down. Now I don't have to because I can listen to it, and that makes me incredibly happy.
