When something precious is stolen from 16-year-old Mina Grime, she will do anything in her power to get it back, even if it means traveling to the dangerous Fae plane and battling one of the strongest fairy-tale villains yet. However, nothing can prepare Mina for the dangerous obstacles she will face in the Fae world - or the choices she must make when love and life are on the line.

"This one is a real dud"
Have you ever read a Barbara Cartland romance? One where the protagonist female is completely incapable and yet the subject of every manly man's macho dream? Yep--there's a treacly similarity here folks. This is a superb example of a female who apparently has all the logic ability of a zonked wombat and is guaranteed to scream at *least* 5 times per chapter. She can be counted on to make all the wrong decisions tho a 1st grader would have no difficulty. This is a Mary Sue story gone horribly wrong to the brain deadening, nose dripping, gag reflex inducing detriment of unsuspecting readers. The first book started great and finished not too terribly. The second spiraled rapidly.... I can only blame desperate boredom and the disbelief that it could not get any worse that prompted me to try this one..... Mea culpa.
She gives her all to the performance.
If you like Mary Sue books with moronic heroes and improbable relationships built upon destructive impulses, then this is the series for you. If not...you've been warned.....
marvelous just marvelous. most amazing book i have ever had in a book it kept me on the edge of my seat from the get go.
The narrator's male voices were less than optimal.
The story itself is alright, but the twist isn't how I'd have liked it to go. Then again, I'm not the author.
Like Grimm meets Alice in wonderland! yet still with unique twist and turns!
"Another awesome unfortunate tale!"
I absolutely loved this story! It was a such a great twist on another fable we grew up with as children. As Mina continues on her quests, she finds herself with a loss that is almost unbearable. Making a decision to save a loved one, Mina defies Jared's wishes a strikes off on her own. Full of adventure and excitement, Mina only thinks she's had some hard quests to fulfill; this one may cost her more than she ever dreamed.
What a fun book, didn't even know I was really into it until the end.
