Pandora's just your average teen - glued to her cell phone and laptop, surfing Facebook and e-mailing with her friends - until the day her long-lost father sends her a link to a mysterious site featuring twelve photos of her as a child.
Unable to contain her curiosity, Pandora enters the site, where she is prompted to play her favorite virtual-reality game, Zero Day. This unleashes a global computer virus that plunges the whole world into panic: suddenly, there is no Internet. No cell phones. No utilities, traffic lights, hospitals, law enforcement. Pandora teams up with handsome stepbrothers Eli and Theo to enter the virtual world of Zero Day.
Simultaneously, she continues to follow the photographs from her childhood in an attempt to beat the game and track down her father - her one key to saving the world as we know it.<>Part The Matrix, part retelling of the Pandora myth, Doomed has something for gaming fans, dystopian fans, and romance fans alike.

"Loved the book!"
From the beginning I just wanted to see what happens next. I had my ears plugged in all day and night. I fell asleep the first night with the book on and tried to wake up and listen to more but could not. The next morning I started the book again and listened to it to it's end. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
"Great Story and Good Narrator"
Yes, it is very good audiobook
The part where Pandora's House has the US well-known agencies..
Beat the Game, Save the World
I hope this will have series..
"Fast moving, believable story"
Yes. But I would prefer to have another story of a similar nature from Tracy Deebs. She really seems to know what she is writing about and that is what makes it so believable.
This is a story that should make you think. While it is fast moving and exciting it had a lesson to teach. Would it really be possible for one person to hold so much power in his hands??
"Had enough of the cussing..."
Probably not. The storyline was not bad and I am curious about what happens, but not curious enough to put up with the language. A good story doesn't need the swearing. An only mildly interesting story can't afford it. To be fair, it wasn't all f bombs, but I simply had enough.
For me, eliminate the cussing... However, that is not realistic, I know. Wish it were.
Sure. She was easy to listen to voice wise. Seemed to read sentence by sentence at first but improved as the book went on.
The storyline was interesting. I wouldn't mind reading the cliff notes to find out what was really going on.
"Not all I had expected or hoped for"
I was not impressed with this book. I had hoped for so much more from it. I had expected more focus on the virtual reality game playing aspect in this "race against the clock" adventure but sadly there was more focus on running from place to place in the real world as it comes crashing down around everyone and escaping not just from government agencies but also from gangs of looters, rapists and murderers. The narrator in the audiobook production was good, but not even a good narrator could make me enjoy the book on more than just a basic level. This might make for an entertaining movie but as a book it fell flat for me.
I first read the book and wanted to listen to it. The narrator did an amazing job. I would recommend it.
"His Chest, His shoulder, His blah blah"
This book to me had a great idea, that very quickly turned into a horrible teen crushfest. I thought I was going to go nuts every time The main started to think about one of the guys.
I was a Teen once and I really dont think my brain went there anywhere near that often, even in emergency situations or just plain ole social shove togethers.
Interesting read. Although this book is for the YA audience, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was my first time to read this author, Tracy Deebs, and the book made me want to read more. Is this fantasy, absolutely; but could it happen … possibly … and that’s what is intriguing about the book. To think about one day all of a sudden not having anything electronic and the power grid and every other kind of grid going down boggles the mind. What would the world be? I would hate to see that. Yet this author entertains us with this story-line. Entertaining? Yes. Quick Read? Yes. For all audiences? Definitely.
