Artful storytelling

Great book of lottery fantasy as Terry calls it. An interesting if rosy look into the London of the early 19th Century. A bit Commander Comes meets Charles Dickens! A good story with a little fact. London without all its warts.

Dodger

One of the best book I haven’t had the pleasure of reading myself, one to be marvelled at whilst searching for the meaning of the terms used to find there really true! Lessons to be learned fir modern life on social media as the mist isn’t clear there either!

Victorian London at its finest

If you like TPs style of writing, his humour and are not too worried about historical accuracy; you’ll love this book

A Must- Read for Every Pratchett/Dickens Fans

Billiant. I loved this book. Life in Victorian London with all its "glory". A veritable Who's who from urchin to Royalty.

Accidental Diamond

Really enjoyed the wit and humour and characters and story..... I purchased it thinking it was a Diskworld novel. It's not.

But the little street scamp, running around sewers and getting in and out of mischief, interwoven with cameos by historically famous peeps... I really enjoy it

Another Pratchett masterpiece

I may be biased since he’s my favourite writer but I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it’s a wonderful combination of modern and Victorian sensibilities and while it’s clearly fantasy I loved seeing the real historical figures in it too. Excellent work!

Artful Pratchett

A wonderful twist from Pritchett. Bringing his style back to the real world, we get a swaggering tale of Victorian London. As the title gives away, it’s a Dickensian London. It’s a warm story with an obvious take on characters from Oliver Twist. But this is Pratchetts skill, he does this in his discworld books. They are after all Victorian Britain and it’s Empire. The reading by Briggs is excellent as ever. Bravo
