On the eve of their last Christmas with their dying mom, two squabbling siblings find themselves trapped in a magical underground kingdom where everything and everybody is made of glowing minerals and sparkling crystals infused with light. With their house about to be foreclosed on, 13-year-old Maggie is hurt and angry at being so helpless; she doesn't believe in anything she can't touch or see. Her nine-year-old brother, Jesse, lives in hope; he believes in the need to believe. On a quest to find the Wizard of Iz beyond the Lands of Magma and the shadow forests of Fossilia, Jesse and Maggie must evade the evil Red and Orange Sapphire princes, the formidable King Beryl the Bloo, and the wrath of the powerful Holy Clear in order to find the source of light and the truth about themselves so they can find their way home. With the help of the wise and beautiful Princess Amethyst and an unlikely band of crystal creatures, Maggie and Jesse learn that the things that scare them most can waken them to their greatest treasures.

I found Chrystalia a wonder story to listen too. Having tried to read the book the audio version, read by Paul Michael Glaser, is much more entertaining and brings the story to life. In my opinion it would make a wonderful animated film.
Absolutely! this is a story that captures anyone of any age. truly a fantasy.
I have always loved the way Paul can tell a story. he has a Wonderful, soothing voice. His voice can be very calming not to mention how he brings the characters to life.
The whole book moved me. Jesse coming to light with her feelings about her mother was touching for me.
Paul, I hope you will write again soon. this is a beautiful story and would love to see more of your talent.
"Chrystallia and The Source of Light"
PM Glaser is a wonderful writer and an amazing storyteller. He is descriptive and as you listen to his story all these pictures swirl around in your head and it plays as though you're watching a movie, even if you've never seen the book. I would recommend both the book and the audible for any age group. It teaches as much to the adults as it does to the children, after all he wrote it "to the child in each of us"(PMG).
I loved that he used different voices for the different characters. His superb skill of description, acting and directing shine in this audible 'Chrystallia and the Source of Light' is the best written book I have read in a long time and having Paul read it to me made it even better.
I could listen to him read a newspaper, he has such a way with words and speech that it draws you into the story as though you are watching it firsthand. I truly believe that Paul Michael Glaser, or PM Glaser as listed as author, has outdone himself with this book. It is a true diamond. I'm so glad he wrote it, and was willing to share it with us, the readers and fans.
The entire book moved me. It teaches so many things that it's hard to limit it to a particular instance, or because it is so well versed in this audible, they could all be considered scenes. Everyone experiences fear but what you do with that is what makes you stand out. I will be reading along as Paul reads to me many more times, that Is a fact that is an absolute. I completely enjoyed listening and following along in my head.
I can't wait for him to write another book, maybe it'll have an audible for it as well. We, as readers and fans, can only hope.
This was my first audio book. Loved it! To be able to close your eyes and listen, letting your imagination envision the adventure as it unfolds. It was excellent!
I've heard the comparison to Wizard of Oz and Alice in Wonderland. The search for answers and a way home along with the amazing creatures you've never seen before.
OMG!!! PMG!!! I could listen to that voice all day! I don't know how to describe it. It's so calm and soothing and then all the different accents with the different characters. I just couldn't stop.
Asking "What is?" not, "What if?". That really stuck with me for my own reasons. (long story). And the idea that you CAN get past the fear and it'll be OK : )
The kids reminded me of my own, love each other, hate each other, but protective 'til the end no matter what.
